The playerbase will die down if you do not allow F2p to join. Ever hear of a test drive?


And as for the additional membership fee you plan to introduce after 6th months... If in six months the activer member base is higher on the Old School Servers than on the Eoc servers, There should be no additional fee.

You did a Great thing by bringing back the Great game Andrew created. Now let's move with the momentum and not ruin runescape again with your greed.

Just thanks to everyone that voted.

I'm happy with a small team making a few updates that the 07 community will vote on. It will be good for the community to be able to vote on updates, without those updates being churned out on a weekly basis (quality over quantity); and that it player suggestions that are being looked at as the updates. I'm also pleased to see that for at least 6 months (and hopefully longer) my membership will be going toward the game I want to play, OSS. I'm sure the community will continue to grow and thrive for a long time to come.

Edit: To the people complaining that it is only free for 6 months so why bother - learn to read! It says that Jagex will only charge extra IF the community stagnates or declines. If you like the 07 servers and want to keep playing on them, then please do so. Its very likely the service will remain free if the interest remains as high as it is now.

Notice to all the imbeciles: 2007Scape is going to remain free until September, extra fee (should one choose to continue playing 2007Scape) will only apply if the community stagnates/declines. By that time though, it will rebound and without a doubt we will see an excess of 100K HUMAN PLAYERS online on a normal day. And as time progresses, 2007Scape will receive more service.

The shortfall of votes was 80% of the community's own fault. Your over-hype and over-speculation caused the votes to lag behind. This here is the one chance to redeem ourselves. Let's not allow the slice of cake that was the golden age of RS go to waste.

(How is Jagex to blame? "Qualifying" F2Pers should be granted votes and the deadline could have been extended to a weekend)

Ironic how people complain about paying R45 extra for membership, yet have zero problems burning R400-1000 (even more) on some in-game cosmetics while they call the more logically/intellectually superior people "poor kids".

I don't understand why people would NOT be happy in 6 months.

We were in the 250k range. We didn't reach 500k, but we were close enough.

They give us a guarenteed 6 months, so long as 2007 grows, then we'll keep no extra fees.

Plus throwing away 200k votes wouldn't really be too fair either. Yes, they did set benefits for a 250k range as compared to 500k, but we were VERY close to 500k. I think many many more people would be angry if they stuck strictly to the 250k results. Give the poll another day and we probably would have achieved 500k votes. how do i yad

All you guys moaning about having to pay in 6 months time should read the news letter more carefully, there will be an extra fee IF and only IF the Old School servers die down in popularity over the coming months. So, if you don't want that to happen, stop moaning and get playing ;)

I'm honestly thrilled to see 07scape back, it makes me feel like I'm 11 years old struggling to find my way to Varrock again! I've really enjoyed the nostalgia over the past few days and I'm looking forward to getting right back into it.

You do realize this isn't going to be 'free' to everyone? I believe it's going to be free to paying members. F2P won't be able to play. (It should stay this way, it will keep most of the bots out).

Just wondering. :)
