Oh I know software along won't keep the bots away. However it's like drm where it hurts more legit consumers than it hurts pirates.
I don't think it's a bad idea I just feel like it'd be more of an inconvenience and possibly discourage new players.

New players could be given a grace or an initial key for free. I understand that it would hurt some legit players or annoy all of us, but I think that is where people have to simply make the choice.. Do I hate this key more then I hate bots..
In a simple world, people simply would never bot.. That just is not so. What you invariably get with these updates is initial excitement and then those same excited people come back all broken 1 or 2 weeks later complaining that jagex dose not care about bots. This cycle should end.
