It's a good idea, but how much will the key cost? Will we have to buy a new one even if our account is wrongfully banned? Theres much to consider coupled with the issue of sending out a key to every Runescape player, what if they don't want to give away their address?
@ faithscott i can sympathize with you on that one hubby been trying to do jag on his now hes given up.
@ matters in hand reference to botwatch fantastic news keep up the good work. Now i dont care that quest wasnt released to get rid of 20k bots is better than quest for me atm.
Please consider those playing 07 as well even though im not playing it because im sure bots will make themselves to those servers eventually. Shocked myself at that point "the star being considerate yet again"
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
7 Signs rode on 7 Stars, 7 Ways to find the long lost Bards.
While it is great to see I fear these bot busts are 'too few and far between'.
I hope Jagex don't rest on their laurels and step up the bot busting so that they are doing these every few days at least rather than every month or so.
If you do not understand physical access control to software, it is unlikely I will be able to discus it with you.
Basically i am saying there needed to be a physical layer of defense ( hardware ) that must be plugged into the computer you want to play the game on. If they ban you for botting they would ban the key and sever access to yhr game until you bought another key.
Software detection and banning is one part and they have that down well, but there needs to be hardware dedicated for this as well.
@quantum evil if you're talking about something like the little USB dongle that Pro Tools uses to stop people from stealing its software, that's waaaaayyyy too asinine for a game as large as Runescape. Plus what if you lose it? What if it breaks? Too many complications for something like that.
