I'm sorry, I find this to be so disingenuous as to border on stand-up comedy. Why? Simple, I have read the comments of various officials of Jagex... comments like how "BOT" is defined, specifically how one who is a paid-member cannot be a BOT.
If Jagex was *really* interested in clearing up the BOT-problem, they would unleash it's players who can spot a BOT a mile away. Here are some simple ways Jagex could very quickly and decisively kill the BOT problem:
Make is so when a player sees a BOT and reports them, that a tag is coded to that account, if a player gets more than, say three tags in an hour, a "PIN" screen pops up. Jagex already has the code, I know, every time I first login to my bank I have to enter my PIN, well, make it so the suspected BOT has to enter a random-code that generated and give them just 60 seconds to do so. If they can't enter it, the account gets logged-out and cannot log back in until the Jagex BOT review team has a chance to see if it's a mistake.
Bring back the "Magic Box" random, where people who spend allot of time doing a single-task, like fishin*, woodcutting, mining, etc all the sudden find a "Magic Box" in their inventory, if the player doesn't "solve" the simple puzzle problem, the box multiplies, eventually filling the pack... trying to drop the box or put it in the bank, makes it multiply, finally overwriting anything else in the pack. If a pack is full, the account is tagged for review.
I have a dozen other ideas, but since this limits the number of characters I can type, I've run out of room, but it doesn't matter, because Jagex is only saying they care about BOTS to fool players into thinking they care.
