They are whining like babies about getting busted elsewhere.

On a side note: Food for thought... if it was not for the infestation of gold farming bots there would not be the same uproar and the players who bot to lvl up / get capes might have slipped under the radar.

Bots are bad.. for everyone.

41 Pages of responses, by players, with some very common threads:

1) Areas where bots are still quite visibly and obviously a major issue.

2) A specific example of bugged new content that is being abused (Player owned Ports).

3) Names of alleged botters.

4) Calls to "name and shame" the "high-level banned accounts", just as the botfinder general does, simply to publicly give credence to it having happened for a vocal disbelieving majority.

And yet, NOT A SINGLE RESPONSE IN ALL 41 PAGES FROM A J-MOD!!

And that, J-Mods, is why your credibility is falling through the floor, because your customers (and I see member tags on a lot of these posts, so that is your PAYING CUSTOMERS) are losing faith in almost everything you say about taking steps against those abusing the game.

Please, if anyone at Jagex is reading (and I suspect they may not be, that these forums are just a sop to the customers where we can let off steam and be totally ignored by Jagex) please please please at least post some sort of response when these threads develop. It happens every time you make posts and announcements trumpeting your anti-abuse successes, and you need to identify the common concerns of lots of paying customer posters and respond to them!

That quote gave me a little hope. It's very assuring that they are acknowledging the ramifications this brings the community, because to be honest... I was beginning to think they didn't care. I'm sick and tired of seeing updates on SOF and Soloman. There are more important things to worry about, such as the state of this game.

Let's just see where this "war on bots" progress leads to. Google fanboy

Good news at the start of the new year. :)
I have just one question, and not to sound sceptic or doubting.. but if some of the accounts in game who i suspect are bots are stil there are they genuine players then?

Appreciate your determination in getting rid of the bots!

I know I'm going to sound like a total moron, but would someone please tell me how to tell a bot from a player who doesn't talk. I never could figure it out and would like to know what the exact tells are.

PS I am actually being serious, I can't tell from a casual glance.
Could someone PLEASE answer this question? "I feel the power of the ocean, connecting with the deepest part of me...."

easiest to tell on a bot if it keeps making the same mistake, doing things again what normal players would't do.

Some bots are easier to tell than others, but spy on them and you'll see :)

Most bots, when they run, keep stopping and run again. normal players would just keep running ;)

All little things to see if someone is botting, not talking doesn't mean botting right away ;)

Hey Guys ! Jagex I have the perfect solution to bots .

Im sure legit players will hate it though.

Simply require bank pin be entered each time you bank .

I know legit players will get tired of this real fast, but should stop

the bots, destroying the ecomony.

Just A thought if you are serious about stopping the bots . HOW ABOUT ,GIVE US DIFFERENT COLOR TYPE
