Jagex is losing the war against bots. As long as there are players who feel actually playing the game they pay for is a waste of time and decide to cheat or buy gp/xp instead, this game will continue to suffer.

Why pay for a game you don't actually play? Why make an account in a game you are not playing? Do you enjoy watching a game run on auto and play itself so much?

And stop with the "It takes soooo long because of the grind to level up, so I must cheat" attitude. This game was always a grind. They have added updates to reduce the grind, but if you don't like grind then don't play. This game was created with grind in mind.

I am tired of being told to leave if I don't like the game. Well, right back at you. If you don't like playing the game as it was meant to be played, then leave so that people who want to play can play without all the bots/cheaters ruining it.

I never understood why people let a computer program play the game for them. What is the point in that?

Yes there are many things you can't do unless you work for the level to do it. But that is how the game was created in order to never have an actual ending.

This is not a game to "beat" per se. This is a game to advance and keep playing as you get higher. I understand it takes a while to be able to do certain things or to get enough gp to buy stuff, but that is how it is in this game.

What is the point in bragging that you cheated and got 99s in all skills? Whoop ti do. This game is a game to advance and enjoy. Combat wasn't the only aspect.

With all the xp/gp being thrown at us, how can anyone say they can't train?

I don't buy my skills. I train skills to train other skills and only on very rare occasions to I need to buy a few supplies since they would take too long to get, like wine of zammy, mort fungi, or grenwall spikes. I buy armor as needed, mainly for quests. At least I did.

With the new combat in EoC, I don't see myself working on combat as little as before.

As much as I am going to get flamed for this, if you really want to stop the bots, cheaters, scammers etc.

Add a trade limit to all accounts again and remove the wilderness, to be honest I don't understand why the trade limits were removed and wilderness brought back in the first place. Bots, gold sellers and cheaters pretty much didn't exist and the economy was wonderful.
I know the official response as to why the wilderness was brought back, "The players voted so we listened"...
But Jagex don't listen and act any other time.

I use an external website to monitor my progress and according to it I've gone up a lot of ranks in things I haven't trained recently.

The left is experience the right is ranks gained.

Attack +0, +45k
Strength +0, +56k
Mining +0, +12k
Herblore +0, +13k
Agility +83, +26k
Thieving +0, +32k
Farming +0, +4.8k
Runecraft +0, +25k
Hunter +0, +33k
Construction +0, +29k

Also another big gain was my crafting rank. it currently has 14m exp so 700 ranks is fairly large.
Crafting +509, +735

I don't think these gains came out of nowhere or that many people quit.

The official response as to why the wilderness was brought back was a fraud, pure and simple. Jagex said "The players voted so we listened"

BUT

The result of that "referendum" was 91% of 1.2million votes being "yes". 91% of 1.2 million votes out of the roughly 15 million accounts that existed at the time. Most people that would have voted "no" didn't bother voting because they knew that Jagex was going to do what Jagex wanted to do, and no amount of players voting against it was going to stop them (the vote was actually even lower because the "yes" voters were voting with multiple accounts... a poll done a little earlier found that most RS players had an average of 3 accounts each, so that 1.2million was more likely to have been around 400thousand players using 3 accounts each. I voted "no" but only with 1 account, and I got flamed for both voting "no" AND for only voting with 1 account.)

It shouldn't be much surprise to anyone that we now have a game with a ruined economy and no less than 175million gold-farming bots out of 200million accounts.

"Jagex listens..." Yeah right...

BTW... I've seen a lot of people saying that if a whole lot of maxed-out cheats had been banned, their own overall ranking on hiscores should have improved... well, I didn't notice any substantial improvement in my ranking on or around the day Jagex claimed to have banned the cheats... BUT (and this is weird) I did see my rank go from a bit over 118k yesterday to 106k today. Giving Jagex a benefit-of-the-doubt that they probably don't deserve, maybe they said they'd done the banning before they actually did it...?
