It's nice to hear that Jagex has done something about the multiple people who gain an unfair advantage in the game. It's a step in the right direction.

Unfortunately those people aren't the reason the Runescape economy is in shambles. Anyone who plays this game knows you can't go to blue dragons, green dragons, frost dragons, or grotworms without seeing ONLY bots. Anyone who has stood at the bank in dungeoneering has seen the massive amount of runecrafting botters, and if you've been to the Brimhaven Agility Arena recently, you'll see mass amount of bots there as well.

You can't have your private chat set to "on" without getting spammed every 5 minutes with gold selling websites. The Grand Exchange is packed full of flower bots and gold advertisers.

These are HUGE issues, with a massive impact on the game. Jagex likes to ignore these issues, and it's ridiculous.

A step in the right direction, sure... but definitely not far enough.

gotta say, i honestly don't care what they have to say. it doesn't matter how hard they try to nab these botters. they wont stop. ban their max account and then they have a max account a week later. jagex would need to recode their game completely for bots to not work (and then after a while people would find a way to get them up again)
they said that the botnuke would kill all bots. they were back in a week.
I see this "banning" post is just propaganda.
I would bet that they haven't banned many, if any people (in the past week).

only way for them to prove this banning:

post a list of 100-500 accounts (in order from their former leader-board status)
and when and why they were banned.

ps. EoC took runescape to ****.

since it has been patched, mind sharing what these nubs where using and abusing? I find it funny to laugh at these kids and would love to know just how they were abusing the bug, and since it has been patched and the abusers dealt with, no harm in sharing what they were doing? entertain us and give us all a bit of a laugh please

runner, the problem could be fixed much quicker if jagex employed use of a sense of hired pmod, such as hiring some pmods by giving them free membership in exchange for requiring them to sit for a given amount of time a day in heavily botted areas, such as talvary dung or outside dungeoneering. give these mods the ability to perm mute and put locks on the skill used to bot, thus they can silence the spammers and advertisers standing outside dung and make it so a bot cannot kill drags or goutworms unless they appeal it. however, while they had a certain ability like combat locked, it gives the player a chance to do other things like dungeoneer while they appeal it in the chance of an accidentally lock while giving the special pmod a chance to review the lock.

emphasize that these special mods will have receive sever punishment if they are not using these powers correctly and that they are only allowed to go after the most obvious bots, such as one with names like "alksdphf" or "9q8ph24ef" where its looks like someone just hitting the keyboard.

give free membership in exchange for a time spent locking combat or talking or runecrafting or mining or fishing or whatever activity the bot is using.

have these special mods go after the most obvious bots while leaving real players botting to jmods, as it doesnt take an expert to spot an account created just to bot

its time jagex let pmods and other help in the fight against bots as it is clear jmods are way to overwhelmed to effectively combat this problem. it is time to get rid of those annoying advertizing bots or even players outside dungeoneering, those bots ruining the economy for all slayer drops as well as fishing and mining.

this solution could effectively be a huge victory in the fight against bots and severely lower the effectiveness of bots in the game as well as save jagex development time in trying to create code to combat bots and simply use players

Wow... Bots is still here v.v ...... from Gu'Tanoth's Dungeon :'( Please Jagex Mods will do it Rid of bots.... from Gu'Tanoth's Dungeon. I'm sorry I have bad mood I can't talk this Post. Because I'm sooooooo waiting in four years to Kill Blue Dragons for 100k times what i need Dragon Bone and Dragonhide for Pray 99 and sell it make me rich I know pretty hard work I got Mith. ores 30k and Coal 120k because i buyed ge I guess hard work kill Blue Dragons I have no clue how long days to kill 100k times

Please!!!! Rid of dang bots!!!!!! all of it Dungeon by any Dragons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know me... I'm really not happy.... see? I never give up and quit! -_- don't make me!

please deal with the large-scale bots before actually players abusing the system. while i think all botting is wrong, those whose accounts are made with the sole purpose of botting get in the way and create a much larger problem for the average rs player then someone with an account that decides to bot a skill that they dont really care for, as this is only one account as opposed to gold farmers and advertising bots which get in the way of everyone on a large scale.

this post and bans deal with a small part of the problem and i would like to see the large part that really drives players nuts dealt with before seeking out and crushing the small sections of botting

it would be like governments cracking down on parking tickets while seemingly letting mass murders run rampant. address the major issue first please and until you fix that, dont waste time on the little stuff

abby bee, i really agree with you, and it does seem like jagex is going after the part that really is a small fraction and wont really affect the economy or anyone other then the guilty party

an angels, if you want to be taken seriously by jagex, your post needs to be readable, while i think i agree with what you are saying about blue dragon bots, so many of your sentences made so little sense, i honestly dont know...

LOL jamflex.. your still trying to convince us that you actually care about this game? You guys are sell outs, nothing more. Please.. go home, just shut the game down, put all of us players out of our misery.

I think I speak for myself, and maybe a few others that I would rather see the game be gone, then to feel the need to log on every day. See the shambles this game has come to, then go grind frosts for the measly 8k that they are worth (roughly 1m an hour with tortoise) While flowerers (something that gives players an unfair advantage over others) get to control the economy, crash whatever items us players have to grind & raise the price of the items we have to work for.

I want you to think about something jamflex.. This is how the economy is working out at the moment. Flowerers get a majority of the money currently in the economy, and sell to gold sellers (and you don't ban them) gold sellers sell to other people so those people can start hosting and eventually double their investments. (you don't ban them either). So virtually 90% <-- (my rough guess) of the money that is in the economy right now is inaccessible to players UNLESS we of course buy runescape gp. (which you wouldn't ban us for). My theory is; You own all of the runescape gold selling websites; each individual mod manages their own website, and you GREEDY MF's get to reap the rewards of it all, plus membership, plus sof, plus solomans******;<<Advantages over others (sof)) Mod Mark you are the most disgusting. Thing to happen to this game, ever. Please highlight this, put this ont he front page and respond to all my inquiries, I beg you. You will have the entire runescape (except the suck ups on the forums, and the flowerers) LAUGHING THEIR ASS OFF.
