I really love the EoC, I think it's fantastic, but I really won't be able to have fun as could in the beta. There was no risk, and all items were attainable, so I could have fun without the risk of losing gear I spent ages trying to get. I'd never PKed when I was a member, so the beta was insanely fun for me as I could go round wrecking in full bandos with an AGS, etc.

So I was wondering whether we could have unranked servers, where we can do what we like, with no xp, or items or money transferring to the live game?

So has jagex thought anything of changing high level curses back to old icons. i thought these new ones look sub par why cant we keep old ones. One other thing can you please switch the names back on ancient magicks, i dont care if they are tagged with the 4 elementals but just dont change the name. Otherwise great overall job on EOC thanks jagex. =)

I'm interested to know why Jagex thinks this update is necessary. By your own statistics it isn't a majority who support it.

I definitely prefer it to the old system = 20.31%
I like it so far, but can't yet be sure = 19.14%
I don't like it = 19.62%
It's OK, but needs improvement = 14.31%
I like both the new and the old systems = 25.97%
I don't do combat, so have no opinion = 0.66%

Only 20.31% said they would rather it to the current system, the 25.97% who like both cannot be counted as in favour of EoC, nor the 19.14% who said they like it, as all they have stated is that they like the new system - not specifically that they prefer it and want it to replace the current system, just that they enjoy it. You can only say for sure that 20.31% of players who took the survey do want this update, and I'd think that the results would be skewed by the fact that a lot of the people who finished the survey would be those who have an affinity for the new system. Those who just outright hate it probably won't get to the point where they can take the survey.

Now obviously there are many players who enjoy the new system and want this update, but it seems to me (and the info from the survey) that the overwhelming majority want to keep the current system. I am just confused as to why Jagex would do this. Is Runescape doing badly financially? Is this a ditch attempt to bring in new people?

In my personal opinion, I think that this new system is just emulating 100s of other MMOs out there with the abilities and most likely won't do it as well as all the others that have been doing it for much longer, and have had more time to perfect it. It feels as though in losing the current combat system, Runescape is losing a large part of what makes it unique, and will be competing with all these other MMOs. As such I will be cancelling membership on the 20th.

I don't think I've been rude in what I've said, and would hope a Jagex representative won't ignore this, and respond to it

"During the beta, many players commented that Prayer was underpowered and that Slayer was now too intensive with the new ability system. To remedy this, we are increasing the buffs that Prayer offers for the EoC launch"

I just started a thread and posted some suggestions on how to improve EoC prayer, so I'm really happy to see this thread. Can you tell us how much of an increase prayer recently received? Last I checked, protection/deflect (arguably the most common use of the prayer skill) negated 40% of damage. Has this been increased? If so, by how much?

Incinerates,

Great questions. I know pures are a tricky one. I have seen some big pkers speculating about potential pure and hybrid's that will work in EoC so I wouldn't discount it just yet.

However on the flip side look at it like this. Pures came about as people found a way to train skills to be more effective against others of the same combat level. Imagine now that people will have the same opportunity again. working out the most effective abilities, and set ups. It opens it up to a world of content that pures should genuinely love. They made the pure class because of being clever with the set ups. Now there is more chance to play with the set ups.

I am hoping the pures can come to like the update. Am also finding out more info on your direct questions.

For forgetting people who like both systems, and people who like it but needs improvement. You don't even need to add people who like it so far but aren't sure to see that is a majority. Either way people who like it are *far* greater than people who dislike it. People who dislike it greatly tend to be very vocal though.
