I'm interested to know why Jagex thinks this update is necessary. By your own statistics it isn't a majority who support it.
I definitely prefer it to the old system = 20.31%
I like it so far, but can't yet be sure = 19.14%
I don't like it = 19.62%
It's OK, but needs improvement = 14.31%
I like both the new and the old systems = 25.97%
I don't do combat, so have no opinion = 0.66%
Only 20.31% said they would rather it to the current system, the 25.97% who like both cannot be counted as in favour of EoC, nor the 19.14% who said they like it, as all they have stated is that they like the new system - not specifically that they prefer it and want it to replace the current system, just that they enjoy it. You can only say for sure that 20.31% of players who took the survey do want this update, and I'd think that the results would be skewed by the fact that a lot of the people who finished the survey would be those who have an affinity for the new system. Those who just outright hate it probably won't get to the point where they can take the survey.
Now obviously there are many players who enjoy the new system and want this update, but it seems to me (and the info from the survey) that the overwhelming majority want to keep the current system. I am just confused as to why Jagex would do this. Is Runescape doing badly financially? Is this a ditch attempt to bring in new people?
In my personal opinion, I think that this new system is just emulating 100s of other MMOs out there with the abilities and most likely won't do it as well as all the others that have been doing it for much longer, and have had more time to perfect it. It feels as though in losing the current combat system, Runescape is losing a large part of what makes it unique, and will be competing with all these other MMOs. As such I will be cancelling membership on the 20th.
I don't think I've been rude in what I've said, and would hope a Jagex representative won't ignore this, and respond to it
