O M G !! people stop whining you all act like the rare items should be party hats. Just enjoy the free stuff.

But!

JaGex you really need to get rid of the cannons _ I personally have never owned one will NEVER OWN ONE. I think they have NO business in this game FORMAT*****; imo

Only rangers, magers and the people with the best connection to the servers have a chance.
Anyone with the slightest bit of elevated latency has ZERO chance of getting a kill. O_o :P :@ :O

the range mage thing easy to fix, range or mage ....very simple , as for the lagg yah were screwed there.

I don't understand (well I guess do = money) why Jagex just keeps throwing free experience and items at people when all we really want is quality content. I enjoyed the Christmas event "A Stray in a Manger" because it was thoughtful, fun, and heartwarming. However, of course they had to tack on bonus hunt exp for no apparent reason. Then all these events that serve no purpose other than desperately trying to keep players around despite continued unhappiness.

Now the news feed is swamped by SoF/SGS junk all in the name of the holidays instead of actual content and I suspect it will get far worse in 2013.

Used to be there was a nice, simple, enjoyable event that everyone looked forward to and that was that. I suppose those days are gone forever.

...so the little bird *tarted flying south for the winter... but it nearly froze solid in a terrible storm...

then a cow pooped on it, and it started to thaw out! The little bird was so happy, it started to sing its little lungs out...

then a cat came along and heard the little bird singing, and scooped it out of the cow poop and ATE THE LITTLE BIRD!

So the moral of the story is... not everyone who gets you INTO **** is your ENEMY, not everyone who gets you OUT of **** is your FRIEND, and if you're warm and safe and happy, KEEP YOUR BIG MOUTH SHUT!

bonus points for naming the movie I got that from, with Sandra Bullock and Sylvester Stallone.

@ finally someone not raging flaming like a idiot, and ur right, this SoF and SGS takes over the whole front page, also for the christmas event, not much of a quest was it, compared to previous christmas events, where they had entire landscapes for the quest => winter queen quest, and i can go on, they put to much effort in those microtranstrash then in new awesome content, thats the only thing that starts bothering me ... , come on jagex, we know u can do better then this!
and i don't bother the idea of the special weekends, it makes it more fun to check out different things at the same time, but this SoF and SGS still remains a disease ...

Should have known from the 45 pages of complaints, but noooo, had to log in and see for myself.
This is c r a p, Jagex.
Absolute and total c r a p.
So I did the single obvious thing to do... went off and hacked willow trees in Draynor for a couple of hours, and forgot about snowmen. Merry Chrimbo, everyone. :)

I agree that the event was probably abbreviated in lieu of all the weekend events, SoF, and SGS updates, which is saddening. The focus should be on the actual Christmas event, not the useless bonus filler.

I would actually suffer in silence the existence of SoF and SGS if it didn't effect the quality of the rest of the game, but it is obvious they've halved the development team into game content and micro transaction content. Which, bottom line, means half the quality content for the player.

It's seriously unfortunate and 2013 should an interesting year (for better or worse) for Runescape and Jagex. I hope it gets better, honestly.

Well the Event is pretty neat as having a Invasion every Hour :-p

But!

Many Cannons/Avatars/Summoning Familiars everywhere :/
Makes it kind of hard to click on the snowmen at random times....
I also feel sorry for the people who lag a lot in that area
(like me) So i kind of avoid it.
