And honestly, I'm kinda happy that the amount of players online at one time is smaller than it was a few years ago. It makes doing certain things far easier and with less of a wait. Also, in regards to all your hate about bots...you do realize that if they were human players, you'd STILL have to compete with them to collect resources or fight enemies, right? It would just be harder since humans are quicker. And it would also probably mean less players would "quit", which means that rune rock has suddenly become much harder to mine.
This is still the best MMO by far, so I feel sorry for those of you who, in your misguided anger, will pay 50% more a month for content that only gets added, at best, once a month and which, for most of them, only update every 3 months or more - forcing you to spend more money for content (sound familiar? Oh right, the thing you're already complaining about in RS but which you'll happily do for WoW!) And the past two WoW expansions combined had less content than an average month or two in RS. And RS still has the best storytelling and questing of any MMO, ever.
And EoC DOES take skill...maybe more than before. Before, all you had to do was just hit attack and maybe turn on prayers. But there's a bit more strategy than before. Which ability would work best, should I save up for 100% or use adrenaline on a 50% ability? Hell, it took me forever to survive The Elder Kiln, and I'm combat 175. I can't speak for PKing, since I never PK and it's the least important thing for me, but for PvE, it's more fun.
And look at it this way. If this year is really the worst year ever, like all of you say it is (and it's not. I'm pretty sure last year, the year I quit, was the worst), then that should make you want to play 2013's content. After all, it's not like 2013 could be worse than 2012, right? And here's the problem with nostalgia...once you actually get what you wish for, you realize it was old for a reason. Happened to me already.
