I can see what's going to happen next.
F2P: bottom of the food chain. Who gives a hoot about them. Haven't in the past, why start now?
P2P: Not much better than F2P. The "new" F2P. Will have limited access to game content (most likely high-end & RS gold making content will be blocked). the game will not evolve with these players in mind.
Premium: The new membership. Access to everything. Jagex will only "care" about them, like they only "cared" about P2P in the past.
I suppose the way Jagex is going, "care" will only mean "***** you out of every cent they can squeeze from you"
Speaking of, I am fed up with how Jagex ignores players who pay on a recurring monthly subscription. I would have expected at least a bit of an acknowledgement of the fact that Jagex can bank on the income recurring memberships generate each month. But instead we get nothing. While Jagex put out enticements like cosmetic stuff to get players to buy pre-paid cards, they don't even bother to say to recurring subscribers "Hey there, Thank you for your recurring loyalty. Here's a [insert some cosmetic gift] as a thank you."
<-------------- I have been a recurring member for 3+ years now. Once I signed up, I have never cancelled it. I think the AUD$8.00+ you get a month from me, multiplied by the 3+ years I have been regularly paying is enough for your game. Far more than any other game I have ever paid for.
