So it's basically buy this or temporarily cease to be a member for about a year...

Jagex, very greedy, spiteful, and bad of you. Why have you become the corrupt bureaucracy that you are?

I remember those times when worlds 1 and 2 were always full, and I was lucky to get into them. Now they're never full, and many players have slowly quit. The main reasons I still play are because of the uniqueness and influence that this game offers. However, as I am watching in sorrow, this game and those qualities are slowly being overshadowed by those actions of the investment company that has enslaved Jagex to their greedy biddings.

Did I tell you that I love gems and minerals, and cutting cabochon gems (like turquoise)? And my major in college, because of that is geology. Do you know where that came from? It came from when I was a noob in Runescape cutting sapphires. I loved doing it, and I was fascinated by the question, "are cutting gems really as simple as a chisel?"

13 is the unlucky number apparently... so all in all, 2013, the unlucky year... get ready people. :(

P.S. No, cutting gems isn't as easy as a chisel; in fact, they are cut with gem cutting machines with grinders, sanders, and polishers. cabochon cutting (like turquoise or opal) can take around an hour and faceting (like diamond) can take up to 30 hours (including breaks)!

Kossith, I'm not sure how long you've played runescape, but you're not making yourself look too bright here..

Of all the places you named, Yanille is the only place that hasn't been updated(aside from the hunting store and the pet shop). The only reason you're defending jagex is because you'll be paying 22% less than what you would normally be paying. Us players who are Grandfathered from the previous price will be paying 25% more for what we already have. For Jagex to offer beta access for new members is a complete blow any veteran player.

Facebook and Google said they have enough money?

Is that why Google is still expanding today as it gobbled up YouTube, Andriod OS, created phones, and is still always looking for ways to get information from you so that they can push more advertisements at you so that you can make them richer?

Facebook... No explanation needed really... They pretty much just sell information by dozens of tons. No company will EVER say they have enough money. If someone is willing to purchase something and a company has a means of gathering that item for a cheap price or free I can guarentee they will sell that item for the largest possible profit.


As for this new thing that Jagex/RuneScape is coming out with. I don't really care enough... I pay for membership and play about 2 or 3 months out of the year if that... I will probably buy it just because I like treating myself to fancy things, but.... The world is supposed to end tomorrow so we will have to see lol...

Also why are people complaining that this cost more than what they are currently paying for RuneScape... Of course it is going to be more this isn't some normal hall pass this is an exclusive in it's own rights. You get first access to betas, RuneCoins, exclusive items, and you get to show off to your friends that you truly care about the RuneScape community. I personally don't really care about the community or the game, but I love exclusives and since I grew up playing this game quite a bit... I might as well give them the money for continued growth and to help give other people an enjoyable experience when they are playing such a wonderful game.

Wow this sounds like a great deal! Gold package has a lot to it and if you calculate it its only $6.25 per month! Think monthly membership is 8 dollars now? I would also love to get some solomons and promotional items! I'm not a fan of buying solomon* but this is a great deal of membership for a year.
