If they based the price of loyalty members they'd be hurt in the long run. Even if they charged different prices, it alienates new players. I know RS is a very "anti-new blood" game, but they are trying to make money. Their content amount rivals WoW, yet they'e making a fraction of the money.

Those with grandfathered membership rates have them for a reason, they have paid faithfully for years on end. Jagex has made more money off of us simply because we have stuck around and not been fickle, or lookie loos. You want long term members to remain, then treat them like they are long term members, not just a piggy bank to be plundered for pixels that are now "normally" given to membership card promos. This whole microtransaction environment is really messing with your fan base. We get it already that it takes money to run a company. Ever since the sale of Jagex it has all been about promoting microtransactions, which is the nice way of saying "RWT" but so you can deny that you make all the "bought" items "cosmetic only" which is bs because you can get tons of exp and cash from SOF.

So loyal members have no room to complain, I think not. I think we have even more reason to complain, due to the yearly rate being $15 more than I pay already, and new members get a 22% discount, yeah that some stinky stuff for sure. If you are gonna give new members a discount, you should do the same for loyal members' rates as well. Fair is fair.

Has a mod of any kind actually posted on this thread yet answering questions, or are we all just posting to see our names on the forums? I went through just about every page and have yet to see an official answer one.

I currently pay £3.50 per month for my membership, which means £42 per year, which is £2.95 less than the gold membership price.

What I am asking myself is how much does 365 spins + 2000 runecoins cost. If I am not mistaken it is well over £3. So effectively, I would still be getting a discount, not on the membership, but on the spins and runecoins.

However, I have never bought any spins or even spent any of my runecoins to date. I don't mind the extra spins but I see no reason why I should pay an extra £3 for runecoins for things I had no intention of purchasing from Solomon's store anyway.

All I can suggest to the powers-that-be is that for long term subscribers, offer an even greater discount. If we were given two months free membership (so £42 will become £35 in my case), then I may consider getting the gold membership.

Love my blazehound and 100 extra bank space I got from this. Plus the paladin outfit is nice. It's great that those of us who pay by cc can finally get these vanity items too. Especially the green skin one. :P

wow at all the ppl bashing this. IT ISNT REPLACING ANYTHING AND YOU CAN IN TURN SAVE MONEY. not to mention if you pay attention to the live q and a 2013 is gonna be A HUGE YEAR. 2012 was a big year to begin with. the micropayments are a means to bring in more cash to be able to hire more staff to create better graphics and content. not to mention to replenish some mem money lost from all the bots banned. imo i prefer these micropayments that having bots in the game

Jagex, please please please make these packages available as in store game cards. I do not have any credit cards of my own but I have a lot of cash stored up... please please make these available as in store game cards. I would even be willing to pay 80$ for the gold package since I know you guys said game cards have a higher cost to make vs using online credit cards, paypal, etc.

Please make these available in store buyable with cash. I have the cash waiting and I would really like to buy the gold package. Thank you.

I only pay $5 a month for membership so this really doesn't benefit me.

What about giving those who have been paying membership constantly for years some more benefits.

Lol how long till gold members get access to the new skills and nobody else does. Then certain bosses get locked out to other people. Then the best xp methods. Then the grand exchange.

Jagex I can see where you are going with this.

So.... Without going into discussion of whether or not this is worth it, given all the extra stuff you are offering, my question is: After the premium membership is over, and the days I have already purchased run out, do I start paying at the current rate or go back to my old rate, which was considerably less?
