Though I have my own views of Squeal of Fortune, I will lay those aside to ask a very serious question. Is it possible that hackers have gained access to accounts though advertising for free spins? Just today in world 2 I saw ads for at least one website that stated Jagex is giving 20 free spins to members of FunOrb and Runescape.
Having nothing to lose, or so I thought, i went to the site. There, it pulled up a page exceedingly similar to the Runescape Homepage. It wanted me to click on a hyperlink which would supposedly send me to a page that would give me my free spins. So I clicked, and it brought me to a page exactly like the Runescape account login page, where it wanted my Username and Pass-word. There I paused. It seemed strange to me that I hadn't seen this update before, as I check the homepage fairly frequently. As it happened, I had another tab pulled up with the same homepage, but without the update. After refreshing multiple times, no dice. There was no article, thread, or page of any kind remotely similar to the page being advertised in-game by other players.
This leads me to believe that people attempting to hack accounts by gaining access though Squeal of Fortune free spins incentives. I urge Jagex to confirm or disprove these and look into what these sites truly do. It could be stupid paranoia, but it could be something sinister as well.
If a Forum Mod or otherwise sees this, please respond as soon as possible, as I hate to think that someone's account could be stolen or drained.
Thank You for your time.
