I just read the "right royal costumes" news post, if you're going to make highly "desirable" costumes for Runescape, Why must you insist on putting them on the SoF instead of making them like nearly everything else on Runescape, You want it you work for it and if you put in the effort you CAN get it, Instead of putting it on something that means no matter how much you want it or try for it theres no certainty that you will get it.
That's a rhetorical question really, Obviously you've done this so that players will think "I really want this costume but the only real chance I have of even being in with a chance of acquiring them, Is to buy spins on the SoF!" You think that by making items like the Katana and green skin and these costumes purely cosmetic, players won't mind that they are only able to get them through spending money in the real world, but for the most part we really DO mind.
I seriously hate the idea that there are items in this game that I want but will likely never own no matter how much work I put in, because I haven't spent real money to give myself a much better chance of getting them. Why must you insist on taking Runescape down this path, Jagex?

If Jagex wants to make money then they have every right to do it.. If you don't enjoy the game for itself and don't want Jagex to get some extra money to pay the bills then you're not as loyal as you think you are.
Games change, my favorite game ever went full p2p because they had bills to pay.
If people want to waste their hard earned money to get ahead on Runescape, which they could easily get the same thing just by spending a good hour or two playing then thats their problem. Those idiots are what's going to keep the subscription cost the same, and help Jagex keep pushing out updates to help keep this awesome game, even more awesomer.
But whatever do what you want, I got better things to do then read a bunch of negativity. Have a nice day =)

I suppose we should be grateful for the better odds and items, because you *are* trying to respond to what players want. Thanks for the improvements; I'm sure we will now get some useful items from the SoF and be happy about it.
I'd just like to add that while you may have appeased those who are upset over not receiving items of high value, it seems that the bigger issue lies in the purchasing of spins. More directly, the change in ethics that was required to make spins available for purchase. No doubt you are all aware of that; hopefully it will be revisited.
Happy gaming :) !

Jagex, I know you have the best interest at heart for all of your members and some people like the SoF and some don't. I am indifferent towards this. I however think that the changes that need to be made are slightly off from what you have done.
Some rewards were BS. I'd rather not waist time spinning it, getting my hopes up, just to land on some stupid 50gp that gets stored in my money pouch. I think I speak for many players when i say that 1,000gp is not much of a difference but probably is for some of the newer players. AND what is the point of "LUCKY" items? Someone could win a dragon plate when they already have Bandos (why cant they sell it?). This NEEDS to be fixed too!
I understand it helps new players, but like many others said, it defeats players' drive to accomplish something. Instead of trying to work for money they just hope they will hit the jackpot.
MOST IMPORTANTLY - I think the rewards should be more XP. Have you realized how REPETITIVE your game is? So many people love doing quests and other skills but of course everything has requirements. NO ONE wants to spend time doing over a THOUSAND laps in the agility arenas just to achieve the level. Don't you want to make every part of the game more enjoyable??? So that players actually ENJOY getting those levels? Why do you think people use bots, Jagex? - Because getting the requirements are soo boring! Don't get me wrong, I think you have done a great job with Runespan, although it could be a little more interactive. And the bonfires a were a great addition too (but why do they look the same as regular fires when you constantly add logs - give them a different look, and its still repetitive) - Firemaking is pretty much the same as cooking!
So if you want to make players enjoy this game more and stop bots, I think you need to make more activities for gaining levels in skills. Maybe you complete a long activity and then you get a large sum of experience(sort of like dunging).
Plz LISTEN

I've been playing RS pretty much since RS2 launched in 2005. I've seen my fair share of good and bad updates, game changing ones, and ones that had people riot in the Varrock square.
Never has an update turned me off from the game so much until now. I usually only have time to play RS in the summer, but this summer I have no desire to play anyone, I have not logged onto this game in months now. It was clear to me ever since MMG took charge that he had a vastly different vision for the company. Jagex has previously commented on games like WoW and how they will always strive to be different and unique, but that was before MMG.
MMG is all about following industry trends and commercializing Runescape to make it appeal to a wider audience. It began with the armor changes - which no one asked for, but yet they did it anyway. There was nothing wrong with the way our armor looked, and it's possible to update something without changing the design completely. It looks like they are just trying to appeal to the "dudebro" crowd, because certainly for anyone who has played RS long enough like me, the new armor took away from the game and just didn't fit.
Then came SoF. It didn't really hit me what it was until I spun it a few times, and realized that Jagex are blatantly giving things away for no purpose. When I realized that, I got so turned off from the game I never really logged in for a while. Then they allowed you to buy spins. I have not logged in since.
What irks me the most is that this is the first time you are giving an unfair advantage to certain players. Yes, people say you need boatloads of money in order to get significant level increases, but that's not the point. If I see someone with a max level, how am I supposed to know now that it was all legitimate, like my training was? I won't, and that bothers me. Jagex devalued all accomplishments in this game, nothing can be considered special anymore. And because of that, I have no motivation to level up or play.

Jagex, I'm getting so sick of playing this game as more and more of these worthless updates are being put into the game.
I used to have fun playing this game, been playing it since the 'Good years' of RuneScape. Now this game has completely gone down-hill and you introduce this SoF.
~~~USING IRL MONEY TO BUY SPINS ON THE SoF~~~
You used to stand for something that was great, now it's like you completely forgotten what you used to stood for, which I'm very sad it has to be this way.
We the people want SoF removed for good, and don't you even think about putting another SoF-like update again.
On another note....When will we see Optimus?
Jagex's version of 'soon' will be next year.
All of you who scream bloody mary about people "buying their way to success" , need to really step back and take a good look at this picture.
Johnny buy 100 spins ... Johnny spends 30 minutes spinning and managing "free lamps" and inventory space .... Johnny might be lucky to cash up 50k in xp from lamps...
Johnny could also play for 30 minutes and get that 50k xp in almost any skill...
Can we have a bit of a reality check here ... and embrace a tool that is actually helping Jagex fund their development ?
If Johnny wants to spend 30 minutes spinning and paying for it, rather than do the grind .. how is that hurting you who would rather not?
