Jagex, I just recently returned to Runescape after a year, and I found a lot of changes, not all of which were bad. I love what you're doing with new quests. The Squeal of Fortune, however, does fall into the category of bad changes. The first thing I noticed when I opened the game up again was that little goblin. I clicked it and came right to the SoF. There was no explanation of how this works in-game. No mention of how some productive goblin has decided to set up a magic lottery or anything of the sorts. That, however, was tolerable.
What was not was what happened when I clicked on the "buy more spins" button. I was expecting to use in-game gp to do so, and wanted to check how likely buying spins was to pay off. Seeing, however, that RW money was to be used for this, I was apalled. I was under the impression that RW status was not supposed to have any impact on the ability to play this game (aside from f2p vs p2p, which is a very reasonable and justifiable impact). Now you're going to make buying spins pay off more? If you keep going down this road, I might just have to leave again once this membership card expires because I don't want to see where this leads.
@ Anyone who has bought spins, you're being taken advantage of in a way you might not fully comprehend. The odds of winning any of the rare prices are likely set phenomenally high. If you want to gamble money this way, you're better off buying lottery tickets in the real world because the odds of success are just as lousy but the prize is in real-world money, just like the ticket.
