You really want to discuss this on forum, will we have Jmods respond to what the majority of the players are saying or just the consumers of bought spins, what is this forum discussion for. I think not no respect has been given to the players the game economy has crashed due to many players quitting or selling the equivalent lucky prize drops, yes I spin the wheel but its not the squeel in general people are upset about its the lack of communications with players over such a sour issue, so much bad feed back and such blatant disregard to the players, Im sorry Jagex but I've lost clan members, friends and even high level rivals do to them quitting over this, I can not just say nothing but as far as this being a discussion I would love to see a responce from a Jmod as would so many many others.

Are you serious right now? My word.
I recently began playing RuneScape again (I took a long break that sprouted in August of last year, then started back up a week ago) and one of the first things I noticed was this new "Squeal of Fortune" piece. I took a go at it to see what in the world it was about, and let me tell you, I was a bit sickened by it. No skills required, just luck (and money, if you're about buying the spins and such).
I will admit that I still use it because I would be disadvantaged from everyone else if I didn't, and it started bugging me less the more often I received the mere 50gp awards, which didn't seem unfair as that is such pitiful pocket change. However, now that you have announced that the rewards are being increased, I feel I must voice the opinion of many other players, as well as my own.
Such a working is ridiculous. It takes the value out of the game and, whether or not you will admit it, is a form of the horrid practice of Real-World Trading - you know, that thing you claim to be so boldly against. People are literally buying items and experience, and you fully support it.
Gah, I feel like there's no way that you aren't currently aware of this. I just hope that the Squeal of Fortune is temporary...VERY temporary. There is no need for it in the game. None whatsoever. Will people use it? OF COURSE. It's there, and people are people. Does that make it right?
I don't need to answer that for you.

Dammit, Jagex...
Pay close attention: If you're not going to eliminate the SoF altogether, AT LEAST, for the good of EVERYONE, TRASH the option to buy spins! That's ALL I ask! Giving people the ability to BUY with REAL MONEY a chance at advancing their skills and getting rare items without even playing the damn game the way it's meant to be played is downright greedy, unwise, and above all, HYPOCRITICAL on your part. You can try and make excuses to how it's not Real World Trading all you want, but here's the fact of the matter: IT IS! People can use real money to (indirectly, but still possibly) buy items, experience, and in-game currency. That's RWT! Y'know, the thing in the rules that you have constantly said is NOT allowed? Yeah...you're breaking your own rule. Believe me, I understand your need and desire to make more money. But you're simply going about it the wrong way. Maybe add a new members-only skill? I don't know. My point is that there are better ways to give people incentive to become members and therefore increase revenue. All you have succeeded in doing with the SoF and its odor of RWT is angering many people and even driving some of them away altogether. It's not too late to fix this mess. Please, if nothing else, at least remove the Buy Spins options. If you do not, then heed my words, Jagex: A business that ignores and disregards its customers never lasts very long. I advise you start listening to what the majority your members are telling you before it really DOES become too late. You have started going down a dangerous and destructive road, Jagex. Turn around...NOW!

Although I do "spin" it can be removed without causing any grieve to me. To be able to purchase spins I feel that Jagex goes the same road as other games (for instance Grepolis) where you can purchase a substantial advantage over other players.
I wonder when Jagex will start selling "double XP" time for the rich and beautiful.

I hate the SoF, but these improvements should make it a bit better. I feel like the current system is kind of trolling everyone with such crappy items as 50 coins, low amounts of low tier raw fish, ore, logs, etc. I've done nearly 300 spins and wouldn't have gotten anything worthwhile (besides a few small and med lamps) if it wasnt for the tattoo/horn weekend and the monkey weekend. Looking forward to getting something more than xp lamps, garbage lamps, and garbage I guess.
I think buyable spins are unnecessary as well. Players are better off buying more membership. It's such a waste of $. If you're gonna waste money why not just buy a friend membership, get the refer a friend bonus, and go actually play the game with your friends. If it's not more rewarding in the long run, you're probably not playing the game right.

"This comment (if read) will open your eyes to what those of us who are against the SoF (most of runescape) actually mean when we say SoF is a terrible update.
The fact you're using the number of people using the squeal of fortune as a way to defend it is a completely invalid argument, as these people aren't telling you whether they like it or not, they are simply using it because it's easy, free, and SLAMMED RIGHT IN THEIR FACE upon login.
Your long term players resent this update and many other recent updates JaGEx, because the majority of them worked hard to achieve everything that they have in this game, and although a lot of players probably enjoyed playing the game for their goals it is still painstakingly frustrating to see some kid with rich parents spin non stop for an hour to get the item/s he/she wants, just because they have the irl cash to spare. THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN FOLLOWING TOMORROW'S UPDATE.
The squeal itself isn't the main problem, as the drop rate of rare items was so improbable that no real harm could of come from it. The problem was that you decided to let people BUY THEIR SPINS WITH REAL WORLD MONEY, which is completely against everything you stood for back in 'the good ol days'; this problem is further increased by the fact that you're planning on buffing up the items and coins etc that you can 'win' on the squeal.
THE SQUEAL OF FORTUNE ITSELF IS PRETTY HARMLESS TO RUNESCAPE, IT'S THE BUYING OF SPINS WITH IRL CASH THAT NOBODY LIKES.
Now... I use the forums a fair bit and I have not seen ONE thread where people are complaining that the drops from SoF are too infrequent or invaluable, so where exactly are you getting this from? Because it's not us forum users.
TL;DR: Expected.
If anybody comes across this post and agrees with me, can you state it in your post? I would greatly appreciate it and I think JaGEx needs to see it, thank you."
This! JaGeX is turning evil, revert back to being sacred while you can!
