I have another account that has done about half the quests so far. Sorry wrong account I guess. Quests are supossed to be the bread and butter of a game. Enjoyable. Some of the quests are, but unfortunately most are horrible.
As for only 1 quest being doable without the internet? You're so wrong. There is no way possible you can figure out the puzzles without the wiki. If you try to tell me you do, then I clearly call you a blatant liar.
I continue to play this game because yes a lot of it IS fun. Quests however suck terribly. MOST of them. Not all. My nephew/roommate got me into this game so we try to enjoy it together at times when we can. But honestly I wish I never got into it. It CAN be fun, lots of times, but some things are so BS.

Maybe it's just YOU that Jagex wants to piss off.

Some of us enjoy quests, and eagerly look forward to new ones :)
Haha!

Well gee, that was a deeply meaningful response, wasn't it?

I founded and run a clan specifically for quest cape owners; we've existed for 15 years, and are one of the oldest clans still in existence in the game.

If you find that funny, it's your problem.

I mean, some of the old quests are pretty boring, but most of them are ok. There's only a handful of quests I needed a guide to do (ME2, Sliske's Endgame labyrinth. Probably some more but I don't remember them) because I find most of the puzzles quite fun to figure out. The gnome quest series used to be my favourite solely because they all featured some puzzle.

There's too many different for me to know which one you're struggling with, but I've finished Extinction recently and the way I figured how to do the whole Erebus part was pretty much trial and error. I figured out I had to use the telekinetic power to move the boulder and get the abyssal one which unlocked the portals, then how to actually do it, then how to activate the lodestone, and so on. Most of the puzzles in the game just take you a few tries to understand how they work and solve them, and it's pretty fun figuring it out on your own. There's nothing wrong with using a guide tho, it just comes down to how much time you're willing to spend doing them.

Any of the elemental workshops quests and The Vault of Shadows immidietly come to mind but there's deffinitely more.
"Trial & error"? It must take you a few hours to do just 1 quest that way.
My complaint about having to use the wiki is that it's annoying. Yes it's nice that they have it. I'd never get a lot of quests done without it. But it's just the fact that it's nescesary. And honestly, because I have to read the wiki, a lot of stuff that pops up on the game screen I just hit the space bar and skip through because I already read it on the wiki. But I've not found anything in a lot of quests that tell you how to figure out their puzzles. If I have to spend hours of "trial & error" to do one single quest how the hell is that fun? It's garbage. I will admit that I am the worst person at figuring out puzzles, but the ones in these quests are so rediculous. Even following the wiki I still end up having to "re-do" the puzzles sometimes because I apparently messed it up somehow. Yes I use the little check boxes. Quests are supposed to be fun. Jumping back and forth and reading the wiki and trying to do the puzzles is anything but fun.
