Well if it wasnt, there wouldnt be too many ppl playing as you cant say the rng factor doesnt keep ppl driven to get their goals finished.

Case in point, it took RuneShark, 5 points if you remember them, 4 years to finish off their godsword set from scratch. Yet they still completed it.

So just because you dont like it doesnt mean it shouldnt exist.

Artificially padding out playtime like that isn't sustainable or pleasant to the average player. MMOs by nature add new content to keep giving players something to do, so eventually if the game sticks around long enough, RNG like that would exceed the amount of time someone could spend on their account in their entire lifetime.

People only have so much time they can spend on the game and most would hardly want to waste it getting nothing because there's nothing to set a hard limit on how many hours of gameplay it takes to get stuff. Just because you're the type of player who has no issue with that doesn't mean it's good game design or an objectively enjoyable experience.

Going by how most ppl seem to be ok with rng considering they dont want things to chance like how skill pets are obtained, id beg to differ.

So rng doesnt seem to be going anywhere any time soon.

Yet you seem to be ok with ppl "wasting time" on clues even though those yield nothing of value some of the time.

So no, im just ok dealing with rng as it gives me a reason to do things.

??? Did you mistype something here? You're claiming that people want RNG because they don't want things to be determined by chance, except the whole point of random number generation is to make things chance based. You'd need to reduce RNG for that.

The examples I gave were cases where RNG was used better in offering some variation while still giving players an upper limit to how long it would take.

Let's please keep separate conversations separate. The forum character limit is too short for that and multithread conversations get messy fast. I've likely addressed your question in my response there.

You are all missing the point of what I posted first up....

Jagex have deliberately reduced the chance (let's call it 50/50) of anything random happening (to say 25/75), and forced the gamer into buying (through bonds, TH, or other micro-transactions) or spending loads of time acquiring additional stuff to regain that original chance of 50/50.

Jagex lay down the goalposts in gameplay ... then move them, when their financial model suits them!

It's gambling by the back door. Hence their new under 18 warning they post to anyone creating a new account.

Game of chance ... Gambling! Micro-transactions to increase your chance of success in game ... Gambling!

They removed the Duel Arena because .... ???

lol

Spoiler alert ...

Jagex are a UK company and the laws in the UK apply, and new rules have just come in recently to curb gambling ads and to safeguard young people (under 18's) and vulnerable audiences.

Gambling Ad's which include ... "References to video game content and gameplay popular with under-18s."

Tick! Tock!

Nope, plenty of ppl are ok with rng ways such as skill pets hence why whenever a thread pops-up asking for them to change, it gets denied.

So this whole argument that rng is bad for the game is baffling.

LOL someones angry they found out the true nature of RuneScape. But honestly what did you expect? This game is as sleazy as they come. Think about it. We pay 12.49 a month to grind and work inside a point and click game world and kill monsters for a chance to get whatever item.

Exactly.

So how you can be angry over something ppl are paying for, or choosing to take part in if you're f2p, is absurd.
