This is absolute absurdity. Jagex really should do something about this. Jagex can't possibly get away with stealing Jagex's IP like this. Knowing Jagex, they're being proactive about this and have already served Jagex with a cease and desist. What will really matter is how Jagex reacts to Jagex's actions in the coming weeks/months. If Jagex isn't careful, Jagex is going to absolutely annihilate Jagex in court. By the time this is all said and done, Jagex is going to own Jagex; Mark my words.
Seriously, why do we care that the games borrow from each other?
RS3 straight ripped Zuk from OSRS, appearance and all. OSRS ripped Seren. It's almost as though these 2 games are supposed to be parallel instances of the same universe...
It's good that the games borrow the best content from each other. I don't see you complaining that RS3 stole the idea for boss/skilling pets, or that OSRS stole Augury/Rigour.
Like seriously, both games are called Runescape... The world of the both games is Runescape... They're both the same world, just with differences. The vast majority of both worlds are already the same. What? Should OSRS change its name? Maybe "Runefield" or "Adamantscape"? I mean, after all, Old School Runescape straight up STOLE the name Runescape from RS3!
I've got it. We can solve this. Now it'll be Old School Run-Escape. And it won't be Seren anymore, it'll be Seven, you know, because she's the 7th of the major gods? And who needs Lumbridge? How about Lumtunnel? And instead of Prayers, we'll have Positive Vibes. Attack skill? Pfft! We have Arm Swinging! And Varrock? More like Varpebble!
