Literally billion $$$ companies wont let individual players have any stakes in their business. There is too many legal risks and too little or even negative profits in return.

Yep. Unfortunately, the small, small profit (that’s significant to us as individuals) of possibly $5,000-$10,000 monthly income from a small portion (maybe 1,000-1,500) players is just pennies to the company as a whole.
They would rather trash the game then push it. So it’s what they did.
Morally speaking, they should have taken the time to keep the game alive out of respect to the original players that essentially financed the company to be where it is today.
Financially sound decision, but morally wrong decision. Which is the base of this rant, I suppose.
Draco Burnz, most of your recent posts have been removed, as they were trying to take the thread off-topic. You do not need to bait negative responses from others continually. It certainly does not add to the discussion and serves to create disharmony in the forums.
Sadly, other posts, which quoted the baiting remarks or responded to them, have also been removed. Please remember that you can report disruptive players to the
Forum Help V2
thread and the Forum Moderators will deal with the disruption.
Draco Burnz, before you post again, please make sure that your contribution is relevant and appropriate. Avoid derailing threads again.

As a matter of fact, I think the Gowers, and subsequently the various Jagex owners, allowed RSC to exist mostly as a gesture of good will to the veteran players. SOE used to do the same to EQ Mac.
RSC and EQ Mac meant basically nothing to bigger companies. When potentially big issues like new data and privacy laws come, they will have to look at the big picture and make them history. TBH, players should be happy they already had many years of good memories from RSC, EQ Mac and such because they simply wouldn't exist if they were owned by small companies.

What data and privacy laws was RSC violating exactly?
I don't think it necessary violated anything. It can just be a precautionary measure to shut down RSC because Jagex is unwilling to spend time and money to make sure everything in that game abide to laws.

There were some unsubstantiated claims that the GDPR played a role in classic's removal, which doesn't really make sense since GDPR went into effect a few months before classic was removed.

It would have been nice if Jagex confirmed that instead of feeding us what *all* Classic players *know* to be untrue.

Those unsubstantiated claims I was referring to were by players, not Jagex. It's possible Jagex may have tried to blame GDPR for something or the other, though. Reminds me of the time they blamed brexit on raising membership prices.
