A death "tax" makes sense because there should be risks of loss when going into combat or facing big monsters. It is logical.

The GE tax makes no sense. It is a lazy band-aid solution to Jagex flooding the game with GP to encourage kids to play. Flooding the game with GP is easier than making good content. The GE tax is therefore a lazy band-aid to cover another lazy band-aid.

Did anyone ever explain the positive effect of less gold in the game?

Does that actually have ANY effect on the players with too much money who insert themselves into the economy at the expense of literally everyone else?

Does it have any effect on a noob player, who has like 15 cents worth of gear?

No, it's just taking from everyone in the middle, to the delightful glee of the top tier. The folks in the middle are the ones reasonable enough to avoid death in the first place, or just use their ring.

What specific items do they think will have LOWER prices in the near future? Not all the skilling supplies, nobody cares about any of that. Certainly not the precious T90+ weapons or bonds.

Looking for answers. Should be easy for the pro economists.

I shall create a pro for the money sink situation.


A castle wars competition. (Also works for soul wars)


Make a group of 7 to compete in a castle wars tournament.

3 billion gold entre.

- Depending on the number of groups, if for whatever reason your group gets disbanded without being eliminated, you get gold back depending on how many battles you have done. *IE 10 matches are scheduled, you do 5 so you would divide half of 3 billion and receive whatever reward Jagex made suitable*

- You get rewards, for winning *IE top 1000 teams get a dye* *other rewards for example, if teams get disbanded without losing half way through the tournament, they would receive a special title *

- Once you lose, you're out of the tournament. Every participant get's some sort of reward.

- New people can join the team, if and only if one of the players in the group disbands themselves, which is only allowed 5 minutes after a battle was supposed to happen. *Yes this means some battles may start 5 minutes later than scheduled*

- The tournament is once a month on a weekend or weekday, your team decides. Yes this means a tournament will be scheduled for both weekends and weekdays.

*Soul wars might be nice as there are PVM enemy's, so players who may not enjoy PVP could possibly tag along and be an elite PVM killer for the team*

This would not only be a GP sink but an item sink, as players would use food, potions and more. And it's fun!! who would of thought, we don't have to get taxed to death.


A cool short miniquest is created before each tournament for players who have entered. Lore based explaining and showing the greatness of RuneScapes history.

If anyone gets hyped over this, no this is not happening as Jagex hasn't appropriately looked at PVP once for the past 5-10 years, they only tried to remove it. We are getting taxed to death.

I would say go tell them you want it, but they ignore everyone that speaks about PVP or minigames.

Controlling, but doesn't stop or fix inflation. Unless you don't mind alienating your playerbase like other MMOs have done.
