The most recent Jmod Tidbit appears to showcase that pertinent information regarding game updates is being posted to social media channels exclusively. Why is the official website being bypassed by our Jmods (again)?
Customers of RS are directed by Jagex to this website. If you have doubts about that just look at any advertisement or article that Jagex publishes. Jagex wants their customers to use this website.
What happened to posting pertinent information to both RSOF & to social media channels? Isn't that what CM promised would happen after acknowledging that they had been lax in doing so in the past. Wasn't the promise made that pertinent information would be posted to RSOF first & then to social media? As it appears now RSOF is being bypassed altogether.
What is conspicuous is that it does not appear that this pertinent information is being posted to social media channels during non working hours but rather during working hours. Can someone explain to the RSOF community how it is possible for someone to have time to post to social media channels during working hours but they are unable to take any time to post the same thing to RSOF? Is it really that time consuming to log on to the forums & copy & paste something that you have already written here too?

As it stands, it appears that Jagex customers that are using the official website are only getting the core information during updates & they are not getting updated pertinent information or notification of changes on the official website about those updates. Customers should be able to find that information on the official website & should not have to surf multiple social media channels for it.
It also appears that questions asked on threads posted to RSOF during updates go unanswered for the most part too. I felt lucky to find a few gold posts on RSOF during the last update. Even though those replies appeared to be a bit on the salty side I suppose we all should feel lucky that at least someone got a reply to a question by a Jmod on RSOF.
It is understandable that CM is leaderless atm & has been for some time but regardless of that I know our Jmods can do better than they currently are when it comes to posting on RSOF. I know our Jmods love their jobs, the game & love the community so it shouldn't be too hard for them to show a little bit more love to RSOF, the official website too.

Oh, I think we all know that the RSOF has deliberately and systematically been starved of information for quite some time now.
Lame excuse after lame excuse, broken promise after broken promise to make newsposts etc. in line, on time, with social media.
Any and all calls for attention, upgrades - indeed any form of maintenance - have been turned aside literally for
years and years
with the threadbare excuse of other matters taking higher priority. RSOF never seemed to move any further up the list, only further downwards towards oblivion.
@FiFi La Frou, Hi, I am hopeful things will change though. It is not that like the new owners of Jagex were not aware of the shortfalls within the CM department. After all shortly after they purchased the company corporate posted a job posting for a new head of CM.
It appeared at that time that what they had & what their expectations for the position were not in harmony otherwise why would they have posted the job listing.
A copy of that job posting pulled from page 34.8 (23-Feb-2017 07:37:37).
The requirements for the position of head of CM appear to have increased & are somewhat different from the requirements posted on the older version of that job posting too.
Jagexs recent mid tier corporate recruitment efforts appear to focus on the recruitment of individuals who are experienced within the industry. It also appears that they are recruiting these individuals from outside of Jagex. This is a bit different from Jagexs recruitment efforts in the past.
CM positions like CS postions are typically entry level positions within a company providing plenty of OJT. The head of a CM department typically would not be viewed as a position to be one filled from within those entry level ranks either.
As noted by the decline in the overall condition of RSOF over the last five years it appears that it was not only apparent to us as a community but to the new owners as well that something had to change within that department.
If I recall, Jagex did recruit a head of CM from the outside in the past & IMO he made some positive changes during his tenure. Some people were saying at that time that he did not last too long due to internal strife. Change is very difficult for some folks especially if the prevailing ideals floating around at that time was one of 'this is how we have always done it'. However, today it is a new ball game, the new owners appear to be serious as to the direction the company is moving in & are in it for the long haul. It is highly doubtful that 'this is how we have always done it' will win out this time.
If you recall from the article Life beyond RuneScape: Jagex's bid to build a games portfolio by Christopher Dring (2nd May 2018) on post 53.10, one of Jagex CEO Phil Mansell strategies for Jagex is to become a third party publisher.
One of the first things a potential customer looking for a third party publisher will do is visit Jagexs own brand website. To successfully market this type of endeavor ones own house should probably be in order first wouldn't you agree?
I do indeed agree with your point of view.
My doubt is in whether Jagex are au fait with this very basic strategy.
What also worries me is that Jagex are taking yet a further step back from their own official forums by employing outside contractors to (eventually) run them
sans
any JMod involvement.
The JMods will, presumably, remain heavily involved with third party social media sites.
