We are starting small and ramping up our component based design. Currently our main focus on #webMeat is supporting RS Chronicle but after that the sky is the limit
Interesting, thanks for the update! Any chance we could have a hint on the next project?

It's very tempting to spill but sadly we can not. There are actually a couple in the pipeline which I am very excited about. This process does take time though sadly, dragging RuneScape web tech out of the dark ages is a tedious process. Fortunately we have an awesome team working on it - long term aim is to be pioneers of game websites. We have been doing a very large investment in our infrastructure lately and hopefully soon the fruits of our labour will begin to surface.

It's written in all web team contracts that saying anything beside the unofficial motto of "we want to do it / we are working on something" is grounds for dismissal.

I'm glad your optimistic but even you have to admit the web team has an Everest sized track record to overcome here... I'm pretty skeptical that we'll see a movement from the dark ages to Windows 95 tier before the end of this decade but if we do, I'll be the first to say thanks.
Glad to hear about the investments, I know I'm not the only one who really appreciates hearing stuff like that. As usual anyone reading this know I am not discontent with the web team but rather lack of policy on Jagex's part regarding website improvement.

Why can't the web dev be at least as transparent as the game dev? Obviously, you can't share everything that's coming up, but being able to share some of what's coming can be a marketing tool for the website(s).

It's a subjective topic. I would put it to you though; what is the value to the business in doing that? In general people do not decide to re-subscribe to RuneScape because the website is getting a redesign. They do it because they are excited about upcoming game content. Given we launched 4 updates yesterday I would struggle to see the real benefit in the extra time on each ticket to write a blog post about it that a very small minority of people would actually read

If you want to generate some revenue, update the website to allow for multiple image skins, and sell some of the skins for a few RuneCoins in Solomon's General Store. It would also mean you could easily add some festive touches to the website during the holidays, such as a Christmas theme skin.
I think this is a really good idea, and the skins can still be Runescape related. For example, dragon, penguin, cabbage, OSRS, and gnome child themes, etc. would be fun.
Neopets for example does a good job with the themes that you can choose, which they've been doing since...at least 2002 when I started playing. Basically all that the themes do is change the color of the toolbar, as well as which set of Neopets images are randomly displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen. The images in the bottom right corner are analogous to the Runescape banner behind the "FORUMS" title, though honestly it would be more cool to have images decorating the edges or corners of the RSOF.

, support for resizeable browsers. My only concern is how sometimes I resize my browser to focus on a single post, and how the entire page shifts as I resize, but I can resize first and then command+F the post I'm looking for.
Thank you
