Ah responsive design - where my heart truly is. There is nothing really stopping us doing this on our site other than time. I am really wishing we made the forums responsive when I updated them. I have been kicking myself ever since.
I have built a responsive mockup for them - it is not actually very difficult it is just a ton of work that myself and the team would need to put in. But it is definately I think the most important update to the website as a whole that we should make moving forwards. Mod Erni*r (my former lead) did a great job on our splash site:

I would like to emphasize, Jagex as a company needs to take care of this Runescape board. By keeping the software relevant with the current technology that other modern websites have taken advantage of.
Runescape players deserve to have a scalable, flexible and modern board that takes advantage of modern browsers. It is time for Jagex to spend money for RSOF software overhaul.
Thanks for responding, as that is highly appreciated. But you aren't the decision maker that can decide, we need commitment from the decision maker Jmods - for them to see where we are coming from.
Believe me when I say this... we are well aware of the need to update the RuneScape site to act responsively and be substantially more efficient. The "Decision maker JMODs" have been listening (and continue to do so) - cannot really give you anymore info than that.
Feel free top bring up ideas of where we should focus out updates (though I imagine all of you here will say RSOF)
To be honest when we do a site update I imagine we will change the design to suit device needs - mobile first FTW Senior Web Developer |
