Ah, so like Giant Tiger. That's what we have in Canada. Cheap food, cheap clothes, cheap random things. Not high quality stuff, but definitely cheap. $8 for a pair of jeans. They won't make you look cool, but they're usually pretty good for work pants.
I go in Aldi for my fruit and veg. It's nice fresh and cheap. Who cares if a carrot is bent or a apple is the wrong shape. I still eat them and so do my parrots.
I like their grapes. Always freesh and 50p cheaper then Iceland next door.

Yeah, they're trying to pass laws that allow grocery stores to sell "imperfect" fruits and vegetables here. As stupid as it sounds, it's illegal here to sell a carrot that is bent. Go figure.
