@Sookie, Yep I agree, there is space on that thread. I recall back in the day that ideas that originated here on this thread (well the old verision of this thread) were picked up and used on other threads or threads were created from the ideas posted here. Should we have to repeat the inital discussion that has taken place on this thread and post it on another thread too when the awareness of what is being purposed to the OP of that thread has been confirmed here?

I also agree that the thread that came about from your initial proposal isn't what you were proposing either...trying to fit that idea into an existing thread might not be doable either.

@Scape D Rune, I agree that there are more advantages to creating a thread to express feedback than posting that feedback to a collection sticky. However, over the years collection stickies seemed to have gained more popularity as the collection point for specific types of feedback. This in part, on Jagex's end, may be due to elements associated with time. It could appear that by having one collection point on a specific topic that would allow the person assigned to collect that feedback a more efficient way to collect that feedback.

However, *overall* I bet that the majority of feedback that is collected is still gained from individual threads as opposed to collection stickies. I wouldn't count on those types of statics being shared by MMG though since those statics would link to 'time spent' on collection of feedback.

Funnily enough, one of my complaints about these forums is about stickied feedback threads. I don't believe that they get read by Jagex staff because it's just too much information in one place. The advantage of a forum is that you can give a thread a title, so similar ideas, rather than being repeated again and again over the few hundred pages of a big sticky can be collected in clearly defined threads.

Reinforcing what has been said, I can understand entirely what you are saying, and see your view point, however I must put in the old sticky thread owner argument ;)

On the first post of most stickies (I know it is true for both of mine and of Treemaid's FIT), the OP will often mention that stickies are not a replacement. Stickies usually include links to the thread that a player has made or a specific post that has been made. This means that it is a useful list Jagex is able to work through, as well as ensuring the importance and priority is the player's suggestion / feedback.

Discussion is encouraged on the linked threads, so if a JMod were to be working down the list, all they would need to do is click the link, and baddabingbaddaboom, there you have you detail. Stickies are there for convenience and a collective list really :)

True they have their uses. I just find it slightly amusing when a JMod creates a thread asking for feedback and a day later they post a reply saying something like "Gosh! I'm really feeling overwhelmed by all these replies, I'm still only on page 10!"

But yea, I can see how sticky threads can act as a sort of table of contents or summary of things from across a forum. They can be good so long as they're maintained, but as far as the posts within them, I do think they're wasted.

One of the issues with providing a list of recommended threads or directing other forum users to use certain threads to post their feedback on via either a link or qfc's is that sometimes those links and qfc's are not updated and end up being to threads that are no longer available or are no longer being used. This occurs on both Jagex and player written sticky threads.

In regards to a player written recommended list of threads where one of its uses is to direct Jagex to feedback then it would be important to keep that information current so that the list remains useful to Jagex. Both player written threads in this forum contain outdated qfc's and links on page 1 of those threads. I'll include that information below since I mentioned it as part of this post [1].

In addition, a player written list of recommended threads tends to be limited to the person recommending the threads views on the topic for the most part. This would tend to limit the type of feedback that was obtained by Jagex if Jagex only used those types of recommendations of threads to obtain feedback from.

I have also seen this type of response posted to gold sticky threads that the forum community are directed by moderation to use in lieu of creating a thread on a specific topic. If the person creating the sticky is using the sticky as a collection point for feedback and also directing the community to post there through moderation then why on earth would they post something that would give the impression that they are overwhelmed by the amount of feedback they are getting.

Lol, those types of posts tend to appear to be saying that they are having trouble doing the job they are paid to do rather that the intent of letting the customer know how far they have gotten into the threads feedback.

It is also rare to see them post after the first few pages of the thread too which tends to give the impression that feedback left after a certain point isn't being read too.

Mistii x thanks for the reply on 25 octomber :D .

I had to wait 5months ask for help on youtube and twitter to find out from a mod why i had ban.I felt like a victim for 5months and i felt like i cant other games or enjoy life or my job. That account been my life,i had 203m total xp and mem on 2012.I been a ex pure f2per and actual member.i don't see myself with mem on ,,valy super19'' even if i have on this ac 99dung and 22cb.That rs acc been my life and i been from a skiller to a pvmer.

On 2009 rs been old and if i wanted to go fast to ,,manage account'' and change pass and on same time that hacker to be on my ac,i been logged off and out of the ac faster.I been on that ac for 10hours to not let him in and ,recovery questions'' been my only help to get the account back.

I no is funny a veteran like me trusted him but i had 2 reasons.

1 he been from my country
2 he had a big brother that hack rs players and i trusted his small brother.

But after i seen he want to hack me i did what i could to get my acc back.

They spend a lot of time to get back to players and is not fair because i earned no money toward runescape and players that only play the game and not rwt, macro and get hacked should have better advantages :D .

But we dont and after a long wait i had a mail where they say. ,,As macro offences are thoroughly investigated before being added to the account and we do not ban an account unless we have unequivocal proof that a macro programme has been used, your account will remain permanently banned. We did check the IP address used at the time and were able to identify your home location as responsible for a number of macro scripts''.

I been hacked and the hacker with a macro program changed my pass 3 time and he threatened me on 2009 and said he can get my acc any time. But i ignored him and had no problems till now :( .

I hope Mod Chrisso or any mod help me because we wait a lot to no what we did and have no answers months or years :( . I hope they check ip's.

Winds,

As for the stickies not being updated, that is often why sticky owners (such as myself) ask for thread volunteers to help them. I maintain the thread and check the current ones, but concerning ones under review, it is often very useful to have someone go through these whilst I focus on the suggestions.

Thank you very much for letting me know though, I can remove them now :P

Ah! Thanks for that reminder Winds. I've updated that one now. Any time you do notice any out of date information like that again, I'm sure most OPs would be very grateful if you could give them a poke on their threads about it as a reminder, I know I would! I rely heavily on the community to support what's happening on The FIT, which helps to compensate for my own inadequacies! lol

@Sookie, Congratulations! It looks like the ideas you have proposed in your 'New Forum Users Forum Section' are getting some well deserved attention (16.1 & 16.2) which includes the mention of using the type of 'guide' you had previously proposed!
