Well Tren, after 6 days of ' nothing ' my point has been proven.

Is there a problem with moderation in general here in The RuneScape Official Forums ... '
NO
'. It runs smoothly, many answers are well written and answered quite fast not leaving too much time before a moderator touches it.
There's even room for disagreement and clarification without an unnecessary amount of ' other moderators ' inbetween.

Do we dismiss players for being inactive ... '
NO
'
Do we dismiss community helpers for being inactive ... '
NO
'
Do we dismiss moderators for being inactive ... '
NO
'
Do we dismiss JMods for being inactive ... '
NO
'

The whole thing of dismiss/sweep inactive people is an absurd action which shouldn't exist at all.

The issue here is that a bunch of ' powerhungry ' players wanna put their weight in in becoming moderators themselves or at least a few friends of them.
This has nothing to do with helping The RuneScape Comunity and The RuneScape Official Forums, this has everything to do with changing powers for the sake of bringing them down.

Exactly.

Didnt want to say it myself as i thought it would come across as rude.

Yet this is exactly what they want, i agree.

Sad to see that ppl only want the crown for the powers and not for the betterment of the community.

What power... We have no power! We have a toolkit and a set of guidelines we must follow or we get punted from the team. People really wanna do modkeeping? It's been awhile since I've had to use the wrath side of the toolbox. It's usually convenience fixes on my wanders of a oops title, or you'll get better help over there ~~~~>

Even the better help over there threads if they're already answered with the pertinent information sometimes I hesitate of moving them, yes they're misplaced but they aren't going to get any better help for their query if it's moved to the right place, just more of the same information or no new information.

Hey Tranq, what people are referring to is ... lets say you have been absent for 6 weeks without posting anything in The RuneScape Official Forums (due to personal reasons) ... '
they
' (people making this proposal) have the ability to take away your '
moderator status
' off of your account and apply it to someone else's account, someone else's account they seem fit applying moderator status to, to that account.

You lose your status ... someone else gains your status.

Oh I get that Tron I really do. I was making the point that we really don't have any real power. We have a toolkit that's slightly better than the community helpers tool chest. Nothing more, nothing less. Which was why I said people want to do modkeeping... People complain we are volunteers and get nothing out of it, so they wouldn't be long for the position. If people are really after a crown I'd suggest hoping to be a p-mod. They get far more attention than we do, we're highly cogent phantoms.

Thats the "power" ppl want, the ability to lock ,move and do everything else to threads.

So its sad they clearly want all of this but not for the right reasons.

I am +1 on this, but at the same time you have to look at the big picture.

It's not always right to let someone go because of inactivity, especially for this sort of circumstance. The forums just aren't as active as they used to be back in the day, and the lack of proper moderators has also resulted from this, in my opinion mods would be a large part of the activity here on the forums.

I do not think Jagex will spend anytime on this, it will not result in any money being put in their pockets. If they ever do decide on doing anything, it will be in a time when they broadcast it everywhere to try to make players believe that they're trying to create some community care update. *a hype up situation* Realistically I don't think they really care.

--

TranQ, as a Forum Mod you do have power, more power than you are displaying. Even though you do not get paid and you may be busy, the things that forum moderators are responsible for are evergoing, the work would realistically never stop.

No disrespect to you or your situation, best of luck and the examples you have given are respected.

--

Please DO NOT make the forums more into a conjoined type of forum, the sub forums that we have are good the way they are.
Be nice and help people

Entire forums could use an overhaul and some more attention, as well as the MOD team could use a bunch of new invites. I understand the forums may be "dead" but that doesnt mean that Jagex cant revamp them and have incentives to use them. I often find myself one of the few people actually on the forums with thousands of players its a little sad.
