Some food for thought: does the 2k limit actually make people write concisely? If I ever write a big post I always use notepad and paste across multiple posts.
I think a 2k limit is archaic given we're a forum not a real-time chat platform. I understand the purpose of having strict limits on real time chats, but why forums. What fills the most is usually the hyperlinks.
Besides you
do
need more than 2k characters for guides, clan threads, feedback posts/comments, roleplay stories, etc... The 2k character limit makes forums look archaic in the sense that you have to make 3 posts in a row.

Yeah fair question - I don't think it encourages any conscise writing... I'm with you on using notepad++ though
Life is like a camera: Just
focus
on what's important,
capture
the good times,
develop
from the negatives, and if things don't work out,
take another shot

To be fair 3k is still 50% more space, so while it's not a lot, it'd be a significant change!

But these snipits of info your referring to are never enough to get a point across lol, there is more to just posting "support/no support". I like to give feedback and explain my choices and why, not just post " this is how it is, just live with it etc".
Plus it's an inconvenience to do two posts that are one post and two sentences on the next, i don't care for forum count so i rather post once with all the details.
Why cant you explain yourself within the post limit?
Im sure you can if you just tried.
Also, how is it inconvenient? You literally have 2k characters to get your point across so i fail to see how anyone cant do that?

Nah, 2k is fine! How often will you exceed 2k?
Agreed.
I see this very rarely happening to the point it wouldnt even be worth it.
As its been stated, it usually only happens in select forums and even then those forums more oftan than not get less traffic than the forums themselves.

Try going through some of the more discussable topics in OT. You'll find that many people will use multiple posts in a row during the discussion... because 2k characters is a relatively low number of characters when having a a discussion with a verbose topic to be discussed.
Maybe you just don't have much that's worth saying, but many others do.
I'm better than you, but that doesn't mean you're not great!

So this needs to happen for a very niche "community" or w/e?
I think my above post relates to this quite well.
Besides, ppl have been getting along just fine with this up to this point so why all the sudden need for a change?

I get it, you think you're the "average" RSOF user, and that those who post more than a few words are somehow uncommon. That's verifiably false.

Quality of Life improvements... improve the quality of life. It's not some "sudden need". People have raised the topic numerous times over the years.
Do you believe it would have a negative impact on your foruming?
