I don't know about the code behind web but how do most forums do it?

Most forums do a lot things this forum cant do. Your talking about a forum whos base code is probably older then some of the player base lol - the whole systems a rickety bucket of bolts that requires a well spit glued application. The forums really come across as something like this:

"When history witnesses a great change, Razgriz reveals itself... first, as a dark demon. As a demon, it uses its power to rain death upon the land, and then it dies. However, after a period of slumber, Razgriz returns, this time, as a great hero"

Wow images have really come to the forums?! Maybe I'll make a full return here after all; things are really on the up it seems! May go as far as to say this platform could become better than Reddit soon.

Back to Reddit I go

it WILL be better.

Is Lyon the face of this update? I need to know who the driving force was so I can become a massive fanboy.

Pretty sure Allstar did it, or at least had a hand in it, since Lyons made a crack about his name while talking about the update.

Norne,
We're not in the early 2000s that loading images automatically will add a significant, noticeable delay to your system. If your system is not good enough or if you're on mobile/capped internet, there's always the choice of toggling such option off.

Like I said, if you've ever used SMF forums or other platforms, they already come with these options to enable/disable autoloading, etc, and they handle it just fine :)

Considering your post count, I would imagine that you know the forums are not a priority by now.
Yes, this was a much needed update. I'm glad they took the time to implement it :)

There's no pressure to add it either, click the photos you want doesnt add any noticable delay to you either unless the photos purely by itself there plenty to do while it loads up; like read the actual text.

If its by itself (which by the way, it cant be currently) then I question its value as a whole.

Any UI elements added to the forums have to be in-line with the forum's aesthetics.
There's also the process of QA testing, etc.

It's not that it'd add any load to the server, just that it all costs development time.

If I read it correctly, this was done more in personal time as a personal project than something they've been doing in strictly work hours. For that, it's a darn fine job, don't you think?

As I see it, you're complaining about the lack of a feature, rather than suggesting they add one in. I don't like the negativity myself, you could probably open a forum thread as a suggestion for it though. :p

I'd support it myself.

Puush and Gyazo are trash please stop suggesting them. Just go get ShareX..

If they allow more then one, they may as well consider multiple. Puush is a commonly used image service for the game, so much so that it often appears on both Reddit and the HLF area. Gyazo also appears commonly.

Know what isn't seen commonly, ShareX.

If Jagex is to consider services, they may wanna factor in what players use. Adding crap that nobody uses...well thats a waste of time.

ShareX isn't an image hosting site like imgur or puush; it's a program that can be used to take screenshots (among other handy things). It offers automatic uploading to imgur, which is what can come in handy since it removes the middle step of manually uploading the image to imgur. ShareX simply gives you the imgur link right after taking the screenshot, like puush does.

There are other programs that work similarly to ShareX that way too, but I've been using ShareX for some time now and I've had little to no problems. It's great for the automatic uploading to imgur. :)

Yes, it's a fine job, never said otherwise.

I'm not being negative either. At first I said it as a suggestion, but then you and Norne brought up some counterarguments, so I replied.

lol, it was Mod Allstar - all Mod Allstar!

Myself & Mod Allstar (along with some help from our backend developers Mod SGreen & Mod Shadow) worked together on this.

Much of the feature design was myself, with Mod Allstar working on implementation, we both have been asking the "decision makers" to do this for some time - they finally agreed and accepted this as a project for us to work on and I'm incredibly pleased they did!

Thanks,
Mod Lyon
