Often I have seen users making baiting and provocative comments like:

"I am ignoring you" for whatever excuses.

"Blah blah blah" and a 9,000 word wall of text and then say I am leaving this thread and won't respond to your <fill in your any kind of forum rule breaking>.

Can anybody, preferably CM and Fmods please advise why these kinds of comments not considered baiting?

To me, they seem like (1) comments directed at forum user(s) and thus violation of the Code of Conduct of Good Forumers, (2) quitting a thread or forum is not relevant and not constructive feedback to the thread therefore thread derailment, (3) telling other user about derailment is itself a derailment.

Please advise am I correct, and if so, should comments like this be considered baiting and reported and actioned in the forums? Otherwise, please advise tell us why not and what's the proper action to respond to such baiting/provocations?

To put it bluntly. Accusations of the sort are dealt with on a case-by-case basis, and the context of the situation and the conversation are the most important factors in deciding whether or not to take action on a thread/posts.

There is no hard and fast rule for what constitutes "baiting" in any situation. It's an accusation that's extremely contextual, and is not necessarily a black and white situation like another FH report like a RWT link or spam would be.

Thank you CM Nick. I guess going forward, I'll just report the baiting. If FH doesn't consider it baiting then I will just respond with the same comment under the same context. Thanks for now. :)

Thus, there are reports that are submitted to FH regarding baiting that we might consider serious enough to take action on, and there are posts where it's more-so a back and forth argument between 2 or 3 people where everyone is contributing to the off-topic chaos, and sometimes it's even the person submitting the report who may be the problem in a thread.

In summation, the word "baiting" is fairly vague and ambiguous and lots of posts are reported as such to FH. Thus, in our investigations, some are, and are dealt with, some aren't and are left. If you feel that something should have been moderated, and no action has been taken on it, that's where you take your request to Forum Moderation Review.

With regards to your question regarding a user who says that they'll ignore further posts of yours, that can just be an issue of a forumer not wanting to continue to converse with you as they feel that they do not want to keep arguing a point, or simply just want to disengage with the situation. Again, context is the most important thing here.

As I believe I've answered your question in regards to how these sorts of things are moderated, and there's not only not much discussion value in this thread but there's also a very good possibility of this just becoming an ongoing personal squabble, I'll lock this up.
