I have a question about formatting that i cannot find. Are we allowed to post images as long as they are appropriate?

Specifically I am thinking of posting a forum post as a picture, like having the rules read on some sort of parchment.

Yup you can. :)

On the profile view, on the left hand side under the 'XP and Levels' and 'Activity' drop-down tabs, there's a 'Character' button. That'll open up the new window with the 3D character model view.
