I find that very ironic.

Ppl say that the forums arent as active as they once were, yet like said, theres usually a good number of ppl posting everyday.

So to me they still seem pretty active.

Dont get where ppl think its died down?

Its almost like everyone has their own version of reality due to different perception. Now if only there was some way to objectively evaluate this claim. If only there was some way to compare the amount of posts made per day and number of unique/active users still using the forums. Only then, we might be able to determine whether the forums can be considered active, or maybe not since there's no definition on what is "pretty active". Maybe to some 10 users is active, to some, its as good as dead.

There was a thread made by Jagex, but I wouldn't have a clue where it is or if it has gone of page 50. It was quite formative and quite surprising how many people come into the forums and post in the forums on.

Nah. If anything, they should try to boost them in a way that attracts people to it.

It's silly how you have to go through multiple social media channels to find specific information when it should all just be in one place: on their official site. They have a forum, use it. Most big games have their own foruming board that are actively used more than ours.

I much prefer the layout of the forums compared to Reddit. It's a shame Reddit is the most popular place to discuss the game. Reddit's format doesn't allow for long-term discussion. It's always just pick-of-the-day topics that die after about 24 hours. And topics need a large amount of upvotes to spark discussions about a particular topic. Reddit is really more about posting for points than anything else.

I mean, really, what does this tell new players? That Jagex' own site is so inferior that no one bothers to use the platform to discuss the game? Instead, they rely on some third-party site? It portrays the company as lazy and tbh, they are. If they can't be bothered to try fix issues with their own site, what hope is there for the rest of the game. That's what one might think.

Trying, and I mean really trying, to fix them is the better step than just outright giving up and relying on third-party sites to discuss something that should be discussed using the companies' own tools.

If you're speaking of the forums, it's hardly toxic. It's more dead and lifeless than anything else. If you're talking about Reddit, then it's more likely to harbour toxicity. It's so populated there's bound to be toxic people around doing all sorts.

Either way, toxicity is not a valid reason to remove the forums. I take the word "toxicity" very lightly nowadays. People will call opposing opinions and disagreements toxic behaviour. It's becoming one of those words that just defines something people don't like.

Disagree with me? Wow toxic

Saying stuff I don't agree with? Can you stop being so toxic with your opposing views? Wow

Are you good at something and just told someone how they could improve themselves? Well, you better hope that person takes it the right way because if they don't..you're toxic!

Kind of ridiculous, but that's how it's being used by this community.

Aqua Star, we know fully well that you do not see moderators of RSOF eye-to-eye. But that does not mean you can just post bashing statements like that. If you have something to oppose about a particular mod, proceed to FMR.

The problem is we have asked and asked and asked some more for changes. Everything you have said (which I agree with wholeheartedly) has been told to Jagex, they don't listen, they don't want changes, they don't care.

We have been asking for changes for as long as I've been around which is over 10 years.
