This week there is a new login interface for the site. At first there was an extra step of choosing how I want to login, I had to choose to login with a RS account.

After a few days now it is logging me in without asking for details. Meaning, I click login and it logs me in. That's it.

I hope this was intentional. IMO it is awesome. The site already saves my details, but I'd rather just let our computers deal with it.

If I had to take a guess, it looks like the switch is to start moving towards the Jagex Account login portal, which is needed for the OAuth2 that the launcher will use.

Right now it's still a bit, odd, cause you're using the new login portal to interact with the old website. But when things keep switching over, hopefully that'll ease it a bit.

You will have to re-sign in for some locations, but from what i've seen mostly its like the acct settings and whatnot where that happens at.

Well, it is asking which method do you want to use to log in. It's even on the Jagex website, not the RuneScape site. So you're sent there to authenticate, and then select how you wanna log in, and get sent to those login places to complete the action. In this case, sent to the RS site to perform the request.

My guess is it'll probably be more streamlined once the Jagex Accounts are done. We'll have to wait and see. Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?

I don't like it, auto sign in's to me are 'too convenient and pose a security risk'. I only have auto signs set/saved passwords on accounts i don't give a heck about like my 40+ fake accounts on other sites to download mods from many pc games etc.

Convenience has a cost...

Since I posted this I only got 1 more automated login then it stopped. Seems like maybe that is not how they wanted it to work?

Either way I feel like it is important to at least offer some feedback on what is happening with the site.
