Agreed. I would like to see more player created hot topics, though Jmod created topics that are not officially announced would be okay in my opinion too. For example, the Player Mod feedback thread, or some of the threads over in Community Home.

My past experience with the hot topics was that they were usually official stuff mentioned on the newspage rather actual suggestion/discussion threads, as has been said above.

If they're going to point to player-created threads rather than those, then I'd like to see them return. Otherwise, I don't really see the point.

What Loggy said.

They've never kept it updated regularly enough for me to be particularly interested in seeing its return tbh. It's a GREAT feature that I guess Jagex just isn't capable of keeping updated with hot topics around the forums (even though they are quite adamant they read the forums regularly....).

If it were to return I too would like to see it updated monthly, as they originally had it. Maybe once Mod Emilee returns she will have something to say about it. As I recall she was in charge of the operation, at least, in the early days when the threads were actually pinned.

Support. I always found some interesting threads that I may not have ever come by. These threads may have been in sections I do not visit often or not at all.

Support with the folks who say that they want them to return but don't want the JMod topics taking up all the spaces.

One of the main reasons I continue to come and use the forums on a daily basis is to read all of the interesting threads that members of the community post and discuss, and I think this is what needs to be highlighted in a "Hot Topics" forum section - Newsposts can be newsposts and don't need to take up all of the spaces in a hot topics section, and a thread created by a JMod should only really be listed there if its one that actually is a hot discussion on an issue.

Just my two cents there, of course. :)

Support. But I think some changes should be made.

1. The list should be changed every week or every few days.
2. The threads with the most posts in that time period should be added to the list.
3. This should not include Jmod threads.

Jmod news threads took up like 90% of the Hot Topics which is pointless because they are already easy to find and given a ton of attention.

I want to see some well-written popular play made threads.

Thanks Chill.

"1. The list should be changed every week or every few days."

That is a bit too often for my taste. It doesn't happen often that a great thread or guide gets created on the forums. It would also probably be an ungodly amount of work for Jagex to keep the Hot Topics that constantly updated. Monthly is a perfect amount of time in my opinion.

"2. The threads with the most posts in that time period should be added to the list."

That could also be a problem. Threads about a rant or even a thread in forum games can get a lot of posts in a short amount of time and while I understand there are some great threads in both of these forum sections, I think something a bit more positive or less pointless (such as a forum game thread) should be featured instead. Also if word gets out that this was part of the criteria for having a thread featured as Hot Topic (if it were to be that way) and could entice players to try and create threads solely to try and get a large amount of posts in a short amount of time which, in my opinion, would defeat the purpose of having Hot Topics.

Everything else I agree with. Thanks for your feedback..
