Middle East wouldn't be such a clusterfuck if it wasn't for the rash decision-making. Border disputes and relations between tribes were neglected; random borders were established, grouping friends and foe within a single country. Don't get me started on how this branched off to the Arab-Israeli conflicts that still persist to this day. :v

Some of you say that thanks to wars technology is so advanced and present it as a fact.
But this is just a speculation. We cannot say something for sure.
What if Einstein or Newton were never born? Would we live in stonehenge era or would our knowledge be the same like today? We don't know that. There is a saying that no one is irreplaceable.

And how you can say if humanity is evolving or reverting rigth now? Yeah, new technology and science breakthroughs etc, but is it all that matters?
Is it good that most of us buy our food from grocery or is it bad that we depend on other people who farms food?
Are smartphones awesome or is it annoying if people look at their phone screen all the time?
Etc etc...

I am not right, but I am not wrong either. World is not black and white only. So, be careful if you state something as a fact. Many facts are not facts.

I'd say it is a fact that war drives advancements.

The world wars lead many of the involved nations to go on a technology-race trying to compete with advantages in areas such as communcation, missles/weapons and vehicles. Even today many of the stuff you see coming onto the consumer market has been around and tested for military purposes beforehand. The intentions could be argued wrong or right. But I firmly believe that if such armsraces like the cold war and ww2 have not been going on we would be set far back because there may have been too little motivation to innovate. The internet/computer networking and most robotics for example have all had their roots in military innovation. People argueing it is just speculation have not done their research. There is many not-so classified information out there of military tech advancements that are already beyond what consumers can get their hands on. That's probably just touching the surface as well, there is more than likely more advanced tech being developed behind the scenes.

Honestly we can't say for sure about anything on this topic. The only real way of finding the answer to this is if we have proof of the multi-worlds theory and can transverse through each world freely and finding a world without any wars at all, and see how they live their life.

It's almost impossible to say wars advanced us so we wouldnt be were we currently are. Futures change everything once something in our history is changed. We'd have no proof of anything what so ever.

Yes this timeline that we live in advanced solely cause of wars but lets think of a world without wars.

Without wars it most likely means everyone is neutral with each other or even a world that is under one order. And we don't know how this would effect anything, or could easily advance the entire world forward or not. We have no clue. So it all depends solely on how they did it back then. And almost nothing Physiological can really predict what would happen to everyone. So debating about facts from this timeline is pretty much pointless as its an entirely different world.
