Just needs a Linux version and it's set.
Reason I don't have it
.
I'm not too in-the-know about Linux and have never used it myself, but I did find this - seems like it's in progress:

Discord
is
superior to both.
And Discord isn't even finalized yet.
This really says something about the competence of the Skype and TS devs, does it?
Yet, people on RS still insist on using either or both over Discord for some reason, when every other gaming/misc community I'm a part of has pretty much shifted to Discord. Why is this?
skypes good for text chat, and if you don't talk too often no point in switching to something else for a quick chat.
but how good is discord on keeping unwanted people out of your groups? i'd assume TS's IP systems make it easier for people to ban people and track who come in and out? (i've only used discord once just as a user so I'm not too sure about its functionality)
You can add passwords to keep people out and as far as i know people can't join rooms unless invited. I believe it tells the admins who invites people.

Really? I'd argue the opposite, because Skype just loves to crash and freeze constantly, especially in group chats with a massive amount of activity. Discord's text chat is smoother and allows you to notify users with pings, on top of handling chat history better so that the chat never lags. Plus, you can have multiple chat rooms for different kinds of things, as well as self-added bots that come with certain functions.
Discord bans are IP-based so once someone is banned they'll need to find a way to circumvent their IP's. The only difference is that you cannot read anyone's IP addresses, so overall it's a lot safer than TS. As for moving people between text channels, you can restrict certain text/voice channels to those with a specific tag, which means they are locked for anyone without that tag.
