That is one of your privileges on this forum. We're not asking to talk about the intimate details of our sex lives, we're asking the chat filter to be lifted so we can organize with people who are like us. E.G. clans and additionally, talking about already existing queer characters in the game.

Lifting the chat filter on such terms is not the same as allowing people to rampantly post about their intimate sex lives.

So let me get this straight .. you want to find like minded people so you can organize with similar people making a gap between straight and non straight people..

If you want equality then why not interact with everyone equally .

The moment we start treating everyone equally is the day Murderers, Rapists and other criminals don't need to go to jail because others don't need to go to jail either... We can't treat everyone equally and people should be allowed to chose who they wish to talk to and who they don't wish to talk to. How about NS ? Just "Not Straight". Getting a bit tiring trying to memorise this now.

Does "Questioning" really need to be in there too? You can't really list being unsure as an actual sexuality...

Transgender refers to your gender identity, whereas gay, lesbian, bisexual etc. all relate to your sexual orientation. These two terms describe different things, so why are they included in the same acronym? I don't think the term 'transgender' should be included in this phrase at all simply because it isn't referring to sexual orientation - whereas every other term in the acronym does. Intersex shouldn't really be on there either, because it isn't describing your sexual orientation - it's describing your gender identity.

Also, seriously, what on Earth has the word "Allies" got to do with the rest of the acronym? That's where this word's meaning really becomes a joke to me.

So really, the terms should be something like...

The word "heterosexual" is also censored on the forums - so there is absolutely no "privileges" involved in this whatsoever. There is no discrimination, and no rule-set in place to penalize you for not being heterosexual.

The reason the word "straight" isn't censored, obviously, is because the primary, modern definition of the word is to describe a uniform extension or movement - something without a curve or bend. The primary definition, regardless of the rubbish people pull from Urban Dictionary, is not related to sexual orientation - therefore, it has absolutely no reason to filter it.

Whilst the word gay, for example, did used to just mean 'happy', that is no longer the case, and its modern definition is to describe sexuality.

Again, "straight" primary describes a straight line, or an object thrown in a straight manner. "Gay" on the other hand always determines your orientation - the reason the latter is censored is because it always describes sexual orientation, whereas this is not the case for straight. It's just how language evolved.

There's absolutely nothing stopping you from writing, if on topic, that you are a "female who likes females" - in place of using the term gay, lesbian or homosexual. However, there's very little place on the forums for such discussion.

In my mind, I wouldn't bother censoring any of it - but that's just because it's a waste of man hours. It's not just the 'gay' words that are censored - all of the hetero ones are too. No special treatment to anyone?
