...pick a comfy spot to watch the meteor showers this week! The Perseid meteor shower is active from July 13-August 26, but peaks this week on August 12-13. It's a great opportunity to spend the night on a beach by the sea, a hillside or simply a rooftop and gaze into the starry night. It's more fun if you do it with someone you know, though! Happy wishing :)

This applies mostly to people in the Northern Hemisphere, but if you're down south, you'll catch a small glimpse too!

edit: in case anybody is actually interested :P

Even though I'm in the Southern Hemisphere I'll be keeping my eyes on the sky. The only light pollution I get is from the moon. Fortunately new moon is due on the 15th of this month, so for the next few days I should get some nice dark sky.

I just hope it stays clear, I don't mind cloudy days as long I get clear nights.

For those in the Northern Hemisphere, I hope you enjoy the show :)

And I've just got back from the darkest skies in France as well :( saw a few meteors while I was there and dabbled in a bit of astrophotography.

First attempt at the milkyway and I'm happy enough with it.

In fact on the right hand side of that image and near the middle there is a faint line from a meteor or a satellite :P
