i feel the same way, it was kinda lame.... and the jokes didnt really click, but its way better the more you watch it, its always a good go back between other animes for me, i think im at about 190 in the normal series, not watching at the mo, but its anime manga comparisons make me lol everytime

I watched the original series quite a while ago so I don't really remember, but I can assure you that the humor in the 2015 version is top notch.

In all seriousness though go with some of the popular/higher rated stuff (even though I take ratings with a grain of salt).

You could ask her what she has watched? Find something neither of you have watched, because chances are if she watches anime, she would have already watched plenty of popular stuff.

I just finished Shirobako, easily one of the best SOL anime I've ever watched. It made me appreciate the amount of effort that goes into producing anime, especially as Shirobako itself is an anime original series. I just hope there are more anime firsts, it seems like many existing anime is an adaptation of something existing.

Some of it is shock value. When you tell someone something they like is shit they feel they have to defend it and change your mind. Also if someone asks for suggestions on what to watch and someone suggests something crap then you have to be a bro and warn them why it is crap.

Also it seems like magic in this show is related to sainthood and your magic abilities reflect what you are the saint of. So the blade saint shouldn't have a doppelganger ability, but fiends might have a more generalized pool of magic with less specialization.
3) Because the more fakes there are the more likely a random guess will kill a fake and people will be like "oh... our counter didn't go down" *continues the hunt* also if the fake's counter doesn't go down it will instantly give them away. At the very least I'm certain the 1st fake didn't intend for a second fake.
