Simply put, the princess was acting. She admitted she was fooling Adlet throughout the entire journey so why is it hard to believe that she was acting at that time? Her goal was to frame and kill Adlet so she of course needed a means to accomplish that goal while still maintaining the "friend" status. Maura's words gave her the ammunition she needed to carry out her plan.

No one said she was a fiend? That is just an assumption because she used a fiend technique. There isn't anything that says a human can't use them so there is no reason to assume otherwise. It's known the fiends were trying to gain support within the human settlements so its perfectly plausible for her to be a human and therefore able to not trip any anti-fiend barriers.

Lastly, regarding there being a new 7th, I agree from a storytelling perspective it's repetitive. However, from a fiend perspective it's genius. If you're the fiends and you've won over a handful of strong, possible brave contenders to your side, why wouldn't you utilize them to reduce the braves numbers through trickery? If you throw lets say 4 fakes in with the real braves, that's more chances for a real brave to potentially die in the confusion. The more fakes, the more confusion which increases the chances for the demon god's revival. So I'm not against this new 7th brave twist because it's plausible.
