Update: My gpu was supposed to arrive by the 11th at the latest and still hasn't shown up. For some reason an $850+ item shipped without a tracking number so I have no idea where the hell it is. Just to be safe I opened an amazon case so if it doesn't show up in the next couple of days at least I will get a refund. Shame all those weeks of waiting will have been wasted.

Next up the ear pads on my akg553 headphones sucked and my ears rested directly on the drivers and it got uncomfortable after awhile so I sent them back and opted to go with a slightly more expensive headphone that is heavier but has incredible padding. The Mad Dog headphones which are planar magnetic t50rp modded by MrSpeakers.

Sadly after the mod they need additional power so I also purchased a Schiit Magni2 headphone amp. It is nice and simple, just a hi/low & on/off switch as well as a gain dial. I love having actual physical switches to flick.

And my monitor arrived despite being the pixel perfect version it came with 2 scratches that caused a few dead pixels so I contacted them via their ebay store and they did not respond within 24 hours so I opened up a case. I believe they simple shipped me the regular version instead of the pixel perfect version I paid for so hopefully it will be a simple fix.

So 2 returns, 1 missing product case, and 2 new items to see if they work. #1stworldproblems

This one has:

6th Gen i7 3.4 GHz
16GB DDR3 SDRAM
GeForce GT 730

How well can this run 'Scape on max settings?

CPU - Intel Xeon E3-1231 3.4GHz 4x Cores
CPU Cooler - Noctuna NH-D9L
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H
Memory - G.Skill Ripjaws X 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3-1600GHz
SSD - Samsung 850 Evo 250GB
HDD - Some shitty WD 1TB (plus 3TB in older ones)
GPU - Gigabyte Radeon R9 290X 4GB Windforce
Power Supply - XFX TS 650W
Case - Cooler Master N400

Gets the job done with most games I play, and can stream most games on max/ultra while streaming no problems.

A potato could probably run rs at max settings they are keeping the specs so low so... yes, yes it can.

Well I have a potato and getting <10 FPS on MIN settings so...

As they are stepping away from java that means that while their max settings will require more the min settings will require less. So your potato will actually do better in nxt.

In other news after making me wait like 3 months (2 for the gpu to be back in stock, and 1 for the shipping window to expire) I was given a refund for my gpu that shipped without a tracking number. So now I need to order it again.... fucks sake.

So I got the refund for my Akg k553 pros which I sent back because they cheaped out on the ear pads and had strong clamping force causing my ears to press directly against the drivers in a very uncomfortable way.

After much research I decided to go with the Mad Dog MrSpeakers Modded T50rp Fostex headphones. They are mostly studio clarity headphones but have some warmth added to the sound signature. The noise isolation is total but the sound stage is fairly small being closed back headphones although I'm told the planar magnetic drivers make the imaging incredibly accurate. Most importantly everyone that has tried them agrees that the thick lamb leather ear pads and leather headband strap make them the most comfortable headphones they have ever used.

The only downside is the Mad Dogs need some signal amplification to achieve their maximum performance so for the sake of simplicity I went with the Magni 2 Amp. It has an on/off switch and a hi/low switch on the back and just a simple knob to turn for gain on the front. Simple, clean looking, affordable, uses actual physical switches, and it just works. My only regrets are that it doesn't come in black and it doesn't take stereo input so I had to get a stereo to rca cable.

Lastly I decided to go with wired ethernet because wired is always better than wireless even if you can get your full data rate/near that wirelessly because a lot less can go wrong with a wired signal. As I don't feel like drilling holes, climbing into the walls/under the floors and running cables I decided to try a powerline network adapter and see how that goes. Basically they run your ethernet signal through your electrical outlets. If it works as well as advertised it will be plug&play wired ethernet. Fingers crossed.

Week 14:
Headphones - Mad Dog MrSpeakers Modded T50rp Fostex
Amp - Schiit Magni 2
Powerline Adapter - Netgear Powerline 1200
Cable Management - 3.5mm Stereo to Rca adapter

Update: Powerline adapter works great!

Gpu arrived at last and the second I took it out of the box it leaked all over the table. Ebay seller refused to refund me for it so I need to wait until the 13th to file a claim which will get accepted at some point and then I'll get a different gpu.

After the leak I've decided I don't want water in my computer. It was pure luck the damn thing started to leak before I got it in my computer and if it had leaked 30 minutes later it could have caused a lot of damage and I would have had to deal with the gpu company to get them to refund the parts (if they would willingly, if not I would need to fight it and god knows if I would get any damage payment) and I would have probably lost any data not backed up.

So with that in mind my air cooling setup will be:
Gpu - Evga 980ti Super Clocked (waiting for refund)
Corsair 750d tower upgraded to the airflow version
Cpu Cooler - Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3
Fans - 3x Corsair case fans replaced with 4x Be Quiet! Silent Wings 2 140mm fans

GTX 770 yes.

GTX 960M, uses a desktop 750 Ti's GM206 and its real world performance is close to a stock 750 Ti. Might have to turn down a few settings like ambient occlusion. There's a tweak on making this less of a FPS cruncher after the last beta though. It'll likely be at least a high and probably a setting or 2 under ultra.
