Funny story that isn't funny: I thought the cables that came with the Evga 1000w platinum psu were pretty dang nice. Braided, mostly black, some grey. Fairly good looking cables. Compared to everyone else on the market I would say they looked top tier with only cablemod cables looking better, not to mention Evga makes the most efficient and well priced psus on the market. But then I found out the horrible truth: Evga pcie (vga) cables are bright red! They made literally every cable except the 1 mostly black with a little grey and then threw a bright red cable into the mix! WHY?!?! The cables and ports they use are labeled do they really need color coding as well and for 1 cable only???

Anyways I had to fix that so I went with the Cablemod black set, 6 sata data cables, as well as the cablemod magnetic rgb case lighting setup, and a second strip of lights.

Also the chair I was waiting on came back in stock! Maxnomic Pro-Chief Total Black Edition!
http://s10.postimg.org/434c359kp/Maxnomic_Pro_Chief_TBE.png

And I "fixed" the Corsair Neutron XT SSDs.

So now all I need to do is make the red on the motherboard black, fix the yellow on the gpu when it arrives, and buy a few programs (Win10 pro, startisback++, adobe stuff).

...almost done.

Modded my motherboard to fit the theme of my computer! Before:

After:
http://s29.postimg.org/ubsue0zol/Motherboard_Final_Coat.png

Note this is either the last or second last coat depending on how well it dries. Also it is still drying in this picture which is why it might have some glare issues on the wetspots.

Anyone know how well this setup will run RS3 on max settings? Hoping its future proofed. Take into consideration that I'm going to be watching videos simultaneously.

CPU: i5-6600k
GPU: EVGA GTX 950 2GB
RAM: 8GB (2x4) DDR3

I'm open to suggestions or recommendations. I also know nothing about ideal mobos and PSU, or whether or not I need a cooling system.

Use this site to select your parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/
It will make sure everything will work with each other and also it is easy to figure out which parts you need for your computer to run. (The first 8, cpu - power supply) (And yes you need some kind of cooling but most cpus come with a fan or some kind of heatsink)

If possible order through: http://www.newegg.com/ as they will assemble your system for you and that can be a big help if you have no clue what you are doing as it is super easy to break the cpu when installing it.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks. The part picker site was very useful. Way too many choices to choose from though. I believe Newegg only operates in the States. I'm Canadian so idk what the equivalent for Newegg would be. There is a physical NCIX store on the other side of town, which Rowley suggested.

Decided to up my audio game so I got some AKG K553 headphones and the Logitech z906 5.1 channel surround sound speaker system.

So this is my complete setup until a decent 42", 60hz, 4k monitor comes out. Also waiting on thunderbolt 3 optical cables to get invented and thunderbolt 3 docks to come out.

Probably going to do a networking update and that will be everything.

Also my gpu shipped at last today! So the build should take place either this weekend or next.

@Wolfie

I'm trying to figure out the ideal parts to build my own PC but its just making me angry and confused. Spent days researching and coming up with build ideas like this 1:

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/dZx2t6

I have no idea how well those parts are compatible with each other, or how it will perform. It also breaks my $1,000 CAD budget.

I just want RuneScape max settings/fps while Youtubing at same time, as well as being future-proofed. Idk if that's too much to ask for? Halp cuz I'm on the verge of giving up and might just go buy a pre-built for the 3rd time.

Ditch the sound card. Sound cards have impedance so they cut all the fine details from your audio. Basic audio guidelines are: Plug your audio cables into the back of your tower, this uses the port directly on the motherboard so it shouldn't get any kind of static or hissing. If you do have noticeable sound issues then go with a dac&amp but never use a sound card. A $30 cheapo soundcard is more likely to give you audio issues than fix any. Not to mention sound cards need drivers and they are notorious (especially cheapo ones) for giving you all kinds of issues.

If you want more detail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1rXcJuEsy0

Corsair is kind of the Apple of power supplies. Yes they are good but you pay for the brand name. Evga will get you just as good of a power supply for far less. Also your max power is listed at 300w so I downgraded you from a 600 to 430w power supply which still leaves you room to upgrade.

Using the money saved I included an ssd which you should install your operating system on as it makes a huge performance difference and no $1000+ pc should be without 1. And also doubled your ram from 8gb to 16gb.

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/X7rYVn

Overall you are spending 31 cents less now and have an ssd and double the ram and no janky sound card problems or over powered power supply.

I found a deal I couldn't pass up and purchased a 4k 40" 60hz monitor! It is 2" smaller than my previous tv I was using but for $757 that is a damn good deal.

Note wasabi mango uses Lg tv panels that have defects to make their monitors and can come with up to 5 defective pixels but the pixel perfect version are monitors they receive that have no noticable defects and typically cost a grand or so more. For reference the pixel perfect 42" costs $1,890 at the moment ($1,133 more!) for just a 2" bigger screen. I can only assume they currently have a surplus of 40" panels for whatever reason so I pulled the trigger and got it while it was cheap.

I also ordered a composite and component to hdmi adapter as the monitor has hdmi and displayport inputs and I plan to replace my tv with this monitor and still need something to play all my retro consoles:
