Online dating is different to a LDR
(Long distance relationship)
and I think a lot of people just assume they're the same.
My personal view is for people to do whatever makes them happy I guess, I have no right to judge someone else's situation because I don't know the circumstances of anything in their lives.
I haven't online dated before but if that's what a friend said to me they were doing, I'd support them none the less. Of course with the given that they are being safe online.

This is really true. In a long distance relationship, people have actually spent time together IRL and know each other in a different way. Online relationships - to me, and this is what changes online to LDR - are strictly online and you havn't ever met.
Idk. It's still weird, but eh. To each their own, really.
