I figured I would get a lot of responses about engineering. Seems to be super popular these days, as it's where the money is!
My uncle tried to force engineering on me, since he did a BSc in engineering and makes an unreal amount of money (like 350k/year), but it just doesn't interest me. When I first attended University I had planned to enter Pharmacy school, but after doing a few biology/chemistry courses, I decided I hated that and I would hate my career standing behind a counter, pushing out pills to customers.
I'm fascinated by the way that math works, and how everything fits together, all connected by math. Calculus was developed over 400 years ago and it's still a major part of most science degrees today; that is insane! Fibonacci numbers appear everywhere, the golden ratio appears everywhere, it just fascinates me. I knew I wanted to spend my life trying to improve the field in which Im studying/try to get other people interested in mathematics, so I decided to pursue my current degree.
