Would rather not answer these questions. Awkward, personal, and I feel like I'm giving out info to an identity thief/scammer. Also I don't see how these questions are relevant to just MMO gamers, as they are applicable to just about any demographic.
I'm sorry you feel that way. I can assure you that I am in no way an identity thief/scammer - messaging my supervisors (Dr. Mark Coulson and Dr. Andrea Oskis) or university (Middlesex University, London, England) could confirm this for you (with their contact details available via Google, and not just my survey link).
The reason that many of the questions are relevant to just about any demographic is because they were designed for that purpose. Towards the end of the survey there are questions specifically relevant to MMO games (with regards to the participant's interests and motivations). My target population is MMO gamers, exclusively.
There you go, another person to add to your research.
I don't see what all the fuss was about, feeling like our privacy was being invaded. I didn't find any of the questions particularly revealing. I think I've had more intrusive interviews for work.
Only awkward ones were when it was that big list which had things such as "I find them attractive" when talking about family members.
Suppose it'd make the survey more complicated to create though, if you had a unique list every time.
Anyway, best of luck with your studies.
If you only do what you can do, you will never be more than you are now.
