I'm very sorry that this particular question caused you to feel awkward. The question was written with the intent on differentiating between participants' biological sex, and not their socially derived genders, and was not intended to cause distress to anyone kindly completing the survey. Regardless, your feedback is appreciated and will be taken into account in any future research I conduct - I will consider including an additional "other" category which allows for text entry, or something else which seems more appropriate. Thank you again for your feedback.

Although I considered it a possibility, I still decided to reply seriously on the basis that some people will be uncomfortable with being forced to pick a category. Thus, the study is flawed in this sense, it does not allow for any alternative options. A seemingly "straightforward" question won't be straightforward for all and may cause genuine distress, which isn't my aim at all, of course. :)

My aim is to determine if there are any correlations between any of the factors in which the survey is comprised of (such as 'attachment', 'attraction' and 'gaming motivations'). Of course, these correlations would not prove anything, they would merely be correlations.

In terms of "getting successful results", I will personally feel that my study has been successful if I am able to obtain an adequate number of responses, from (judging from the demographic information) a large variety of individuals.

will personal views on what attractiveness effect the results? for example answering the question on how attractive you find them 'as a person' rather then physically attractive?

I'm not entirely sure what your question is here, sorry. But the tool used to measure attraction in my survey is called the Measure of Interpersonal Attraction (MIA) - giving that a google may answer your questions.

Would rather not answer these questions. Awkward, personal, and I feel like I'm giving out info to an identity thief/scammer. Also I don't see how these questions are relevant to just MMO gamers, as they are applicable to just about any demographic.
