My intentions with the linkify badge is for the contributors who are listed on the credits page (if they would like one).

I have to hard code the player to the badge, and because of that there are some limitations, that's why I'm trying to keep it to a minimum.

I want those people to have first choice (I haven't even told them all yet). Depending on how that goes will determine what I do from there. I may be able to assign some more people to the list but I just don't know atm.

Hmmm, not sure how I can help.

Where I work, our student laptops are configured with minimal permissions so basically nothing can be installed or changed that requires admin privileges. There are heavy restrictions on what can be executed, and there are networking restrictions too.

I suspect it's to do with how the laptop is set up, though it's hard to say without knowing any details.
