Edit: Just noticed, there's no easy way to go back from editing a post to the screen before (without going back a page)

So, suggestion:

Is it possible for you to change it so if you were to click "// Home / Runescape Forums / HLF Off Topic / RS Linkify " on the top of the edit page, it takes you back to the thread page you were on, or at the very least the topic you were on, rather than back to the sub forum?

This is the bar I mean: http://i.imgur.com/ZRQhgwj.png

Currently, if you click RS Linkify, it takes you back to HLF Off Topic.

That's something I was going to do a long time ago and never got around to it. Actually I decided to not touch it because at the time some new [return to forums] buttons were added but I think they are only for thread creation.

I was hoping (linkify stats show for every 12 edits one new thread is created) that they would put them where they'd be most needed. However that hasn't happened, and it's been so long now I have actually forgotten all about it.

Anyway...

The way I was going to solve that issue was to allow in-line editing so there is no need to load a new page to edit, and the same goes if you either apply or cancel your edit.

The best way to see what I mean is by looking at clan forums and edit a post there. For some reason those forums have emerged (slightly) from the dark ages and differ in a number of ways to the rest of the forums.

If going into edit mode means you never leave the page I think that will solve a number of issues.

As for the links in breadcrumb trail, I can do that too, but I'm not sure if it will be needed if I do the in-line editing. Anyway it cant hurt to do both. I cant say when I'll get it done, but I'll definitely make a start on it soon :)

Based on your feedback I did the tri-state toggle on this page (I really like it). I've added search by rank and page navigation too. I still have a couple tweaks to make with page navigation displaying the page number but it works.

Hard refresh should show the colour changes I've made (not a big change, just a bit lighter), tbh I'm not even sure if I'll use that background texture, but for now it works.

Just thought I'd give you an update on my (slow) progress :)

I don't think the 'breadcrumb' is needed if you do in-line editing, and I'd be really happy whichever way you go.

You could just have a return to thread button on the edit page, which is missing for no reason.. That may be easier than a huge update, and a somewhat temporary fix, if possible!

As for your website, I love the tri-toggle. A few websites I use make use of this feature and it's really nice to use as a user.

The new colours are a lot more friendly too, it's more beige but not too beige, and it's also not orange and it's quite easy to read (although Dungeoneering doesn't stand out a lot imo, but that's only one skill I guess)

I love it, and keep up the work. I don't mind if it's slow progress, you should only do it when you're ready & in your own time anyway :)

Thanks Rowley,

I'm still not sure about some of the details, colours, textures, etc. But I'm close to finishing all the inner working of that page. Once that's done it'll act as a template for the rest of the pages. Hopefully things will move along a bit faster from that point.

As always, your feedback is much appreciated <3

A perfect brew for you :)
