Viewing that 37 nest cashed all of my RS forum tabs. Then I turned it off and looked at it again without a problem. Turned it back on and crashed all RS tabs again.

@Rowley, He has put a soft hyphen in between the 'o' and the 'm'. Not sure why he'd do that.

Oh the imgur ?1 file extension has been sorted too.

@Dsctatom, I wasn't inferring you were running a toaster, sorry if I cam across that way.

I needed to test on something else other than my dev machine, and the only other computers I have are toasters. My comp is by no means typical of the average user, not just the specs, but that fact it's clean, and rarely goes over a fortnight without a clean OS install.

Edit: I might try the dev version of chrome, cos I don't have a problem with Version 35.0.1916.153 m. Tbh I hate the dev versions but oh well.

I've been using the dev version for years. I started doing it because of something the current stable wasn't letting me do. Starting at v36 they've been haphazardly breaking things. As of the version I'm using, the GPU has to be disabled on computers with Intel integrated graphics (obviously not my case) because it'll wreck the UI. Linkify is definitely causing the crash for me, but the possibility that it's due to how Chrome is behaving is there.

Canary has the fixes in place for the GPU issue that exists in the dev version currently, so it's definitely in better shape.

It would be good to know what version Claaaaaaaaws is running.

^I'm on the dev version, Version 37.0.2062.3 dev-m (64-bit) right now and that pages crashes.

It's fine with canary so that makes me think there are issues with the browser. They clearly state it's experimental.

This is exactly why I don't test on these versions.

I really appreciate all the info you have given me, I'm not sure what I'll do, reading up on this version there are many fixes needed but I see nothing relating to this issue.

Edit: My website doesn't like it either, text is off, and some other issues. Though I know the browser isn't entirely to blame in this case :/

Time to uninstall and go back to canary.

Edit:2 Oh that's interesting Rowley, dif version but you have no issues.

It's been (relatively) a long time since the last Chrome update, so I'll let you know how it goes after the one I expect in the next few days. Canary was actually messed up too until they updated it to 38.0.2072.0; there was most likely a period when it would've broken there as well.

You know you can keep Canary and stable/beta/dev at the same time, right? Canary is its own thing while the other three will replace each other.

^Actually I didn't know until just now. I realised I have them both :)

I'm kind of tempted to play around some more with that crash, however it's not like it's something that's likely to occur often.

And the thing is I don't know why it's crashing. I hate band-aide fixes that don't actually solve the problem. All I would be doing is putting limits on things, not actually improving my code.

I'll see how I feel about it later :)
